Incredible quality. Truly.
A very nice product. I use this from a kayak and it’s not as easy to peddle with my drive and keep a lure moving and drop this in easily but no matter what, it holds tight from being pulled up and only releases if pulled back. My line doesn’t spin and I even use a 3 lb dumbbell for my weight instead of a downrighwr weight. All works flawlessly.

Great little releases.
These releases are great. I add them to my sidewinder planner boards and never have to worry about losing the line gripper or it rotting out again. I love that they the line tension is adjustable and one set I never have to worry about them again. Also they work great for converting a jet diver into a quick released jet diver that takes all the pressure of the diver once you hook a fish.

Meh…
So I saw these on a sockeye fishing video and wanted to try them. They do work as intended first off. I would suggest getting the tension set before heading out to fish. They can be a pain in the neck trying to find the tension sweet spot. Then if you switch to a reel with a different diameter line, you’ll have to adjust it once again. My crew has mixed opinions of them and some want to keep the yellow spring pinchy ones instead.

Great with Torpedo weight
Excellent release for kayak trolling for salmon and trout using 8oz. Torpedo weight, 12” steel leader, bead swivel and snap swivel. Setup shown in my pic. Line with uni uni knot tied to mono leader (red line) act as stopper with line through snap swivel to another snap swivel attached to lure (blue). Works fantastic!

Works pretty well, just a little clumsy to attach the line when the boat is rocking around in the waves. Releases well when a fish hits, and I guess that is the main goal. Also getting no premature releases from line tension or wave action, something that was a problem occasionally with the competitor releases.

no tension strength
bought this for a down rigger that pulls diving lures. claimed it had tuff holding power. Put in 80lb mono tightened the screw as tight as it would go and it held about 1/2 strength

So easy to use.
So easy to get your line back down. Hook up is as simple as it gets. Dependable too. They are used by most of the charter Captains in this area of the Great lakes.
