I’ve been using the Clairol Root Touch-Up in Dark Brown (4) for a while now, and it’s truly the best solution for in-between salon visits. The color blends seamlessly with my professionally dyed hair—no harsh line, no obvious “at-home” look. What I think doesn’t get talked about enough is how QUICK and MESS-FREE it is. The little mixing tray and brush make it so easy to apply exactly where you need it without wasting product or staining your skin. Another huge plus: the formula doesn’t have that overwhelming chemical smell you get with a lot of dyes. It’s much gentler, and my hair still feels soft and shiny after rinsing—no straw-like texture. I also love that the kit has just the right amount of product for roots, so you’re not dealing with leftovers or having to guess how much to mix. I was not able to find my color in stores once Covid-19 hit. I was so glad to find 2-packs on Amazon and have ordered several as I have not been able to go to the salon. It is very easy to use on roots to cover the gray. Much better look than an overall color.
