It has a removable section where you put the garlic when pressing it. The fact that is is removable makes is easier to clean but it also means you need to search for both pieces in your utensil drawer when needing to press garlic. It is also necessary to place the removable piece in the correct orientation when you put it in. (It is easy to see which way it should go because, in the correct orientation the top of the inserted piece is flush with the receptacle.) The garlic press comes with a stainless steel spoon with a small bowl which is useful for scraping the unpressed portion of the garlic clove out of the press insert. It also comes with a very tiny brush to clean the rest of the garlic residue out of the corners of the press insert. The diminutive size of the brush means it would be very easy to lose. If it were to go missing, a good rinse actually cleans out the residue just as well.This garlic press works well. It is pretty thorough in extracting every last bit of garlic from a clove. The only negative I found is that it requires quite a bit of pressure to squeeze the garlic through the holes, not as easy for my arthritic hands to use as another garlic press I have that does the job with more ease, so I knocked a star off the rating for the difficulty I had exerting pressure on it. It probably would work just fine for someone without the hand issues I have. This garlic press also claims to be useful for crushing ginger, a function I would have little use for, since, when I use ginger in my cooking, I tend to prefer to use cut chunks of ginger instead so I can remove them later and therefore avoid fibrous ginger bits that result from crushing it. I also didn't happen to have any ginger on hand when I was testing this device for review so I couldn't test that function.In general I would recommend this garlic press with the caveat that it needs a bit more pressure exerted than other garlic presses out there.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my fair and honest review. The press seems to be decent quality and appears like it will hold up to long term use. I have small hands and many times I have issues with kitchen tools because of this. The press doesn't seem to create the issue for me. I can place one large clove or two to three small ones in the basket for use each time. My only real complaint is that the basket is far to easy to remove. It doesn't effect the function of the product, as far as its ability to press the garlic, but it is a pain when you are using it repetitively or if you don't have a specific area in your drawer and it's just a collection of tools. The little spoon is cute and all, but a little silly because we won't use it. The cleaning brush is nice, but i do wish it was attached to the press so that it was easier to keep track of. When I purchase a garlic press in the future, I will go back to one with the "self" cleaning feature on the back of the handle, however I am satisfied with this product.Overall, for the price and free shipping, I would order a similar product again.Pros* The grated tray removes for easy cleaning* Seems sturdy enough for regular long term use* Press seats all the way in get bottom of the basket for complete use of garlic clove.* Design easily fits in handCons* The slick stainless finish makes it a little difficult to hold onto with wet hands. It's only a real issue when things are shifted in the drawer and it falls out and when you are using the press repetitively for multiple cloves.* The press doesn't flip to allow "self" cleaning of the grate holes. Nice quality garlic press. It's stainless steel and has a removable basket, making it super easy to clean. It also came with a little brush to help with the cleaning. Great product! I received a discount for my honest review.

This isn’t all that sturdy. This broke after the fourth use.
