Tuck in with

This is my first NYB purchase. I have no idea who these guys are, just looked interesting as I was browsing the Now-Again records website. I'm listening to it now. I like the music enough that I've immediately ordered a previous release (also on Now-Again). However, you're just getting into the groove of a cut and it's already over. The tracks here are brief to say the least (anywhere from :56 to 1:38, except for the epic 'Fruit Juice for Everyone', which clocks in at 4:51). I'm a DJ so I'm always looking for stuff I can play at the restaurant and I'm really liking these tracks but they feel like snippets, I just don't understand what the band was trying to convey here. As I said, I've ordered their previous release which, by the looks of it, has song lengths that are more, shall we say, conventional... so I'm looking forward to hearing that. Good if not great music though and I LOVE that it's instrumental. Hope this was helpful.***UPDATE***It turns out I was among a lucky few to have received a defective disc. There's a small number of them out there I am told so if the tracks on your copy are all short then contact Jason at Stones Throw (not Now-Again or Jazzman). Jason was very helpful and I received a proper copy today.Great groovy, instrumental, well produced stuff here. Hope to hear more from them.

Got a sealed copy of this disc and it's empty. NO DISC!There is a problem with some people getting bad discs and I didn'tget a disc at all. I'm not gonna order another after reading the otherproblems!

These guys bring so much good stuff to their songs (funk, jazz, soul, rock) it really is hard to classify what kind of band they are. Really smart and creative compositions, tight performances, funky grooves... their albums are always in my top playlists!
