Excellent Quality, Quickly reads/plays all CD formats
Nice packaging with detailed 12 page instruction book and every accessory you might need including audio patch cord, charger cable, headphones and inline controller for play/pause, stop, advance track, volume. The case is compact but well built and includes 4 rubber cushion (feet) on bottom to hold in place on any surface - these are not the cheap stick on rubber dots, they are attached to circles fabricated in the case. Battery charged in about 2 hours and lasted through at least 10 CDs, seemed like it could have played for hours more. Buttons on lid are real buttons, not thin membrane surfaces made into cover. The player quickly connected to my JBL bluetooth speaker and read/played audio and Mp3 tracks faster than any of 12 other players I have owned over the past 25 years. I wish the open and volume controls were easier to access but that's part of a compact player. I've never heard of the Oakcastle brand before but I am a big fan now. I highly recommend this reasonably priced device.

Nice CD player
After my Insignia CD player stopped working this past summer, I wanted to buy another one, but Best Buy does not sell it any more, so I had to expand my search. I'd never heard of the Oakcastle brand before ( it sounds like an English pub), but this model got good reviews and it was affordable. It also was rechargeable, so I wouldn't have to keep buying and using batteries. After you press the start button, it takes about 5 seconds for the CD to start playing. The sound is good ( like other reviewers, I suggest using different headphones, since the ones that come with the player are so-so). I listen to it for about a half-hour at a time when I'm at the gym, and I probably get several hours worth of playing time with each charge. I wish the buttons stayed lit up while the player was in use. And it feels less sturdy that players I've used in the past. I carry it in a padded bag that is sort of like a small purse, so it is protected. I'm happy with this purchase.

Okay CD Player, Cheap Build
I've had this CD player since January 2021. It's survived multiple long haul flights, getting thrown around while inside suit cases, multiple moves getting thrown around in boxes, etc. Anti skip works most times, but sometimes it's randomly inconsistent for some reason. It doesn't happen often though, once in a blue moon. I'll usually have to turn it off and on again. Works well enough to take it on walks with no issues though. I've never had the "No Disc" problem that others have had. Reads discs just fine. Sound quality is okay, it has EQ presets which are nice. Compact enough to fit inside shorts pocket. Doesn't take up much room. Battery lasts long. I don't use the bluetooth, only the headphone jack. Speaking of the headphone jack, it's quirky. It doesn't like certain headphones. For example, if I use my PC headphones, which have a mic, I'll get sound but the buttons on the CD player become unresponsive (except for the play/pause button). As soon as I remove the headphone jack from the CD player, the buttons work again. Buttons work fine with standard stereo headphones with no mic. Would I recommend this? I'll answer that by saying my next CD player will be something of higher quality. The lower quality from cutting corners on this CD player doesn't justify the $40 price tag. This technology is old, it should be perfected by now.

Small, portable and easy to operate CD Player for bedside or car use.
The AUX cable as well as a Blue Tooth cordless connection capability gives this compact portable CD player the versatility to be used outside with a portable speaker, connected to car & TV audio systems or even for bedside listening to a good mystery book. Blue Tooth connects quickly to a portable speaker. The voice levels and book reader's voice quality is excellent. I handled it and bumped it in several different ways and the CD player did not skip tracks. Even though it is a compact device the controls are accessible and clearly identified. The CD player works as described however after using the CD player for playing books on several CD's an audio problem occurred with finishing the last page as recorded on the CD. This may be a problem with how much is recorded on the CD as opposed to the capabilities of the player.

No brainer portable CD player
Why did you pick this product vs others?: It had all the desired features of a good portable CD player: anti skip, EQ settings, long life rechargeable battery, plus Bluetooth capability. Sound quality is nice. No unnecessary bells and whistles made this an easy choice. And the manufacturer offers a free 3 year extended warranty.

The Real Warranty Isn't Included
Like many others with 1-star review issues... the player suddenly stopped reading discs. I bought this for a oldest daughter, she used it a few times and it stopped reading discs. Contacted the manufacturer and after going back and forth with (sometimes ridiculous) troubleshooting steps, we were told to contact Amazon for a full refund. We registered the 3-year warranty included in the box, so I assumed this was acceptable, a full refund is better than being stuck with a defective product. After months going back and forth between Amazon and the manufacturer, my literal only option for resolving this issue is to return it to Amazon but with a Restocking Fee. I get it, Amazon needs to be compensated for processing the return of the product and it's not their fault it's defective... but the manufacturer offers absolutely no way to repair, replace, or refund the defective product. They also refuse to refund me for the restocking fee. In fact, they tell me it's up to the seller who, get this, pretends to be the manufacturer. As for one of the troubleshooting steps... they want you to turn on the player and drain the battery completely and recharge. This took FOREVER as the CD Player will turn off after 60 seconds if not playing anything. And it won't play anything if it ---get this--- doesn't read discs. Oakcastle or Majority or whoever it is who sells these products has lost a customer, and anyone else I can warn about this product. To be clear, the CD Player suffered no damage or misuse in it's short time with us. It just stopped reading discs randomly and never read them again. Again, I appreciate Amazon for allowing me to return this even if there is a restocking fee because my only other option is to cut my losses. $40 is a lot for a product that is quite literally built to fail with no real support.

Bluetooth Compact CD Player, 5 Stars!
I really wanted a CD player but didn't want a "deck". After viewing multiple reviews on multiple platforms, I took a chance on the Oakcastle CD-100. Back light displays, Bluetooth capability, and a rechargeable internal battery. For the price, I was game. I am glad I found this. It has met all of my expectations. Wired, wireless connectivity...it doesn't matter. It plays even when charging. I have used a wireless headset and a wireless speaker. This product gives me what I want! I haven't acclimated 100% to using it (used top loader portable or deck platform for so many years). But, I would Definitely buy a few more for family...because they are not getting mine!!!! Ha! Low Risk, High Rewards, Price on point! 5 STARS!!! UPDATE: I have bought several since my original post. I still give 5 STARS. Update to report: My newest one is USB-C. Charging cable came with it and is the right length. BRAVO..Quality and function remain superb!

Skip protection not great.
1st one I got didn't play certain CDs, some brand new, would play to a certain track and started making crazy noise. Got a replacement asap which is appreciated but still isn't the best with skip-protection which I bought it for. I've realized if some CDs had non-scratched issues (slight discoloration or whatever) it would skip like crazy. The CD had to be pristine to not skip. Which sucked cause I actually picked up an old Sony discman that carries batteries with G-protection and those CDs with slight discoloration worked near perfect. Barely any skip when walking or in a car/bus. Bluetooth sucks. Disconnects or skips audio when connected to a Bluetooth speaker or headphone/earbuds. Best audio experience is with wired headphones. 3 stars for the excellent replacement service. Hopefully Oakcastle improves this issue with future models. Will probably favor this old Sony Discman with rechargeable AAs over the Oalkcastle for the skip protection alone
