>>> VorgeschichteMein Anwendungsgebiet für Monitore ist hauptsächlich CAD (beruflich), Programmierung (beruflich), ein wenig Bildbearbeitung (hobbymäßig) und Gaming bis 75Hz (hobbymäßig). Ich favorisiere aus diversen Gründen grundsätzlich die IPS Paneltechnologie (178° Blickwinkel in vertikaler/horizontaler Position zur Nutzung der Pivot Funktion, hohe Farbaumabdeckung, kräftige Farben/Kontraste, niedrige Stromaufnahme und moderate Reaktionsfähigkeit) sowohl im TV als auch im PC Bereich. Vor einer Weile habe ich mir bereits den LG 29UM59-P hier bei Amazon zugelegt, ausgiebig getestet und für sehr gut befunden. Nun war ich auf der Suche nach Ersatz für meine beiden alten Samsung Full-HD TN-Panel Monitore (P2450H) um den 21:9 Monitor von LG optimal zu ergänzen. Wichtig war für mich vor allem die Nutzung in Pivot-Funktion (zum programmieren und lesen von Datenblättern), eine gute Farbdarstellung und ein scharfes Schriftbild zur Entlastung der Augen. Auch die Montage per VESA Halterung sollte möglich sein. Abgesehen davon war sowohl ein DisplayPort in der Version 1.2 als auch HDMI in Version 1.4 zwingend erforderlich. Die anvisierte Preisspanne lag bei maximal 150€ pro Monitor. Ursprünglich wollte ich mir wieder ein LG Produkt zulegen, bin dann aber per Zufall über die Amazon Angebote (Angebotsstückpreis 119€) auf dieses Modell aufmerksam geworden. Da der Monitor im Prinzip meine komplette Wunschliste zu 100% abgedeckt hat habe ich AOC auch mal eine Chance gegeben und mir zwei Monitore der Modellreihe bestellt.>>> Wichtige technische Informationen (laut Webseite und Handbuch)-Displaydiagonale: 23,8 Zoll (Three side frameless / Zero Frame. Nach Optimierung der Bildeinstellungen zeigt sich ein farbenfrohes, kontrastreiches und scharfes Bild. Beide von mir getesteten Monitore machten für mich keine (im menschlichen Hörspektrum) wahrnehmbaren Geräusche (Spulenfiepen).Die 75Hz Freesync Funktion habe ich in Destiny 2 mit meiner GTX 1070 (Zotac AMP Extreme) Grafikkarte und aktuellem NVIDIA Treiber ebenfalls stabil nutzen können. Achtung, Freesync funktioniert bei NVIDIA Grafikkarten nur per Display- und nicht per HDMI-Port. Zudem ist in diesem Fall die Freesync Funktion auf maximal einen Monitor beschränkt. Zwei Monitore parallel mit 75Hz zu betreiben geht bei Freesync über NVIDIA Grafikkarte also nicht.>>> BildeinstellungenDer Monitor macht nach dem Einschalten in seiner Werkseinstellung keine gute bzw. eine mangelhafte Figur. Das Bild wirkt sehr blass als wenn es von einem permanenten Grauschleier überzogen ist. Das Schwarz wirkt eher grau und generell kommen die Farben nicht so gut zur Geltung wie Sie es eigentlich bei einem IPS Panel mit 16,7 Millionen Farben müssten. Zudem fehlt es dem Bild an Schärfe. Dies scheint bei AOC Bildschirmen häufiger aufzutreten und wird auch in einigen Foren diskutiert. Eine Lösung zu dem Problem wird dort jedoch nicht geliefert/genannt, die meisten Nutzer haben sich einfach damit abgefunden.Zuerst wollte ich auf Grund des Grauschleiers und der Unschärfe beide Monitore wieder zurückschicken. Am Ende hat mich dann aber zum Glück doch noch der Ehrgeiz gepackt aus dem Monitor die optimalen Bildeinstellungen heraus zu kitzeln. Ich habe einen ganzen Tag lang mit diversen Testbildern probiert mich dem sehr guten Bild des LG 29UM59-P anzunähern, was mir schlussendlich auch gelungen ist. Die in meinen Augen opitmalen Bildeinstellungen habe ich abfotografiert und können den angehängten Bildern entnommen werden. Lediglich den Gamma Wert muss man den eigenen Bedürfnissen je nach Anwendungsfall noch individuell anpassen. Ich variiere diesen (je nach Anwendungsfall) zwischen Gamma1, Gamma2 und Gamma3. Der Grauschleier lässt sich in den Spieleinstellungen über den Wert “Sch.-Strg. = 40“ (Standardwert = 50) entfernen.>>> Mitgelieferte SoftwareIch rate zur Vorsicht bei Verwendung der mitgelieferten Software "G-Menu", welche zur Einstellung des Monitors dient. Sobald man hier den Button “Zurücksetzen“ betätigt werden alle Bildeinstellungen zerschossen und das OSD Menü gesperrt. Anschließend ist der Monitor quasi nicht mehr zu gebrauchen und ist auch nicht mehr in der Lage ein vernünftiges Bild darzustellen. Über einen Trick bekommt man jedoch wieder Zugriff auf das Menü. Dazu muss der Monitor ausgeschaltet werden, die Menütaste gedrückt gehalten werden und anschließend der Monitor eingeschaltet werden. Nun wir das OSD Menü wieder freigegeben/entsperrt. Anschließend geht man über den Menüpunkt “Extra“ auf “Zurücksetzen“ und bestätigt das Ganze mit “Ja“. Nun ist der Monitor wieder in seiner Werkseinstellung.>>> FazitDer 24G2U5 ist für seine Preisklasse überdurchschnittlich verarbeitet und liefert nach etwas Feintuning ein gutes bis sehr gutes Bild. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist hervorragend. Als nützliches Feature ist der integrierte USB 3.0 Hub hervorzuheben, welcher vier USB-A Anschlüsse (3 blaue und einen gelben) bereitstellt. Hinsichtlich Konnektivität lässt das der Monitor ebenfalls kaum Wünsche (ein optischer Ausgang ist nicht vorhanden) offen. Mit der Wahl eines VGA, eines DisplayPorts und zweier HDMI Anschlüsse dürfte AOC den Großteil aller potentiellen Kunden ansprechen. Die beiden Testbildschirme lieferten bei den oben genannten Bildeinstellungen ein identisches Bild ab, gleiches gilt für die Homogenität der Hintergrundbeleuchtung. Es waren keinerlei Kratzer / Mängel an der Hardware auszumachen. All das spricht für ein funktionierendes QM System bei AOC. Abgesehen von den Gaming Eigenschaften eignet sich der Monitor auch hervorragend für den produktiven Einsatz.Wie zuverlässig die Hardware im Langzeittest arbeitet wird die Zeit zeigen. Der subjektive Ersteindruck ist jedenfalls sehr gut. Einziger Negativpunkt sind die mangelhafte Werkseinstellung und der Softwarebug der mitgelieferten “G-Menu“ Software welcher den Monitor quasi unbrauchbar macht. Der Trick zum Entsperren des Displays wurde schlussendlich per Internetrecherche ausfindig gemacht und konnte leider nicht dem Handbuch des Monitors entnommen werden.

Ich hab diesen Monitor eher mit pessimistischen Gefühlen gekauft , IPS und 144hz für nur 180€ , obwohl vergleichbare Monitore +300€ kosten , sowie akzeptable Monitore mit 144hz TN Panel über 200€ kosten ?Der Grund für meine pessimistische Einstellung ist das Vorgänger Modell mit VA Panel c24g1 , welches ich als furchtbar empfand , weil das Vorgänger Modell schlechte Reaktionszeiten und ein verwaschenes Bild in Spielen hatte. Vor allem VA Panel typisch haben sich dunkle Spiele extrem schlecht gespielt , da beim Kamera drehen das ganze Bild verschwimmt. (schlieren)Naja hab den Monitor heute ausgepackt und angeschlossen … WOW … der ist super , deutlich besser als ich es erwartet hab.Fazit vorab :Super Monitor für zurzeit sehr günstigen Preis , bis jetzt sind mir keine gravierenden Schwächen aufgefallen. Das wirklich einzige Problem ,dass ich mit dem Monitor habe ist die minimale Helligkeit , diese kann man zwar mit MBR nochmal reduzieren , aber dann ist halt kein Free Sync möglich.Wenn ihr euch überlegt einen Monitor mit VA Panel fürs zocken zu kaufen , auf jeden Fall erstmal informieren und mglw. lieber diesen hier kaufen. (VA ist nicht so gut fürs Zocken , etwas schönere Schwarzwerte/Farben auf Kosten von allem wichtigem fürs Zocken)Wenn ihr euch überlegt das Vorgänger Modell c24g1 für zocken zu kaufen , dann auf jeden Fall lieber diesen hier probieren.Pro:- Super Bild ( tolle Farben, hohe Helligkeit , ) Hinweis: Du solltest das Bild deinen Vorlieben nach anpassen ,es ist von Haus aus nicht optimal eingestellt , aber immerhin akzeptabel.- 144hz IPS ( mit super Reaktionzeiten ) , für mich die beste Panel Variante von den dreien die ich kenne ( TN / VA / IPS)- Free Sync funktioniert mit Overdrive- sehr Hell, ohne MBR Funktion aktiviert ( für mich schon fast zu Hell , muss die Helligkeit auf 10% reduzieren , bin jemand der eher Abends ohne Licht zockt)- viele Feature im OSD ( unbedingt MBR/Overdrive probieren , leider funktioniert MBR nicht mit Free Sync)- kein merkbares Ghosting bei normalem Betrieb (Zocken/Surfen)- DP und HDMI Kabel im Lieferumfang enthalten- stabiler Stabiler Stand ( höhenverstellbar/etwas neigbar)Kontra:- Bild nicht ganz optimal eingestellt- niedrigste Helligkeitsstufe zu Hell ( ohne MBR Funktion )- Free Sync nicht mit MBR aktivierbar- typisches IPS glow , aber merkt man nie.- ganz leicht Backlight bleed rechts unten , aber erneut... sehr schwach so , dass man es nicht merkt wenn man nicht direkt darauf achtet , wollte es aber erwähnen , vlt. stört es jemanden starkMal schaun in vlt. einem Monat werde ich die Rezension aktualisieren oder falls mir doch Probleme auffallen.

Originally I did not intend to buy this particular display but instead was looking to purchase the smaller 24” version. However the 24G2U/BK model seemed to be out of stock with just about every supplier I checked at the time (Amazon included) and, as I was keen to get my new-build PC up and running, decided on this model. It seemed to make sense given the excellent Amazon price at the time (with free Prime delivery), the largely favourable reviews and the fact that I was getting a larger screen for relatively little extra cost.Well I’m happy to say that deciding on this display was one of the best purchasing decisions I have made for quite a while. Now anyone with any common sense would not expect a monitor that cost around the £200 mark to be on equal footing with a monitor costing £300 or more. HOWEVER I can assure you that this monitor punches well above it’s price point.Firstly the overall build quality is excellent. The screen unit it’s self is of a robust & high quality standard, certainly far from the cheap and ‘plasticky’ unit I was expecting. Likewise the stand is sturdy, substantial, well made and perfectly stable, more so than some of the stands I have seen supplied with other well respected monitor brands. The mount is a doddle to fit to the screen and provides enough height and tilt adjustment for any type of use, and in addition the mount provides for full 180 degree pivot should you need it. Included with my monitor was a European 2-pin power lead, a 3-pin UK power lead, a Display Port lead and a HDMI lead. These are all of good quality and is a great touch that I think shows good customer consideration.When it comes to the all important question of picture quality this monitor certainly doesn’t fail to deliver excellent results which go way beyond what I expected for the price. The colours are rich and accurate, blacks deep & uniform and the whites crisp and clean with no hint of colour cast or muddiness. The contrast ratio is likewise excellent and, in combination with the high scan frequencies, produce a beautifully steady image that has punch and vitality. Finally being an IPS screen the viewing angle and colour rendition is a big improvement over my admittedly rather old TN display. Naturally there is always a bit of tweaking to carry out whenever a display is connected for the first time but with the unit I purchased this amounted to no more than a slight alteration to the brightness and contrast to get a truly beautiful quality image. An unexpected bonus was the fact that this monitor is Nvidia G-Sync compatible which my Nvidia graphics card recognised and configured as soon as it was connected.Aesthetically I think that the whole unit is very pleasing to the eye. The red accents to the stand and screen look good without being garishly over the top and the incredibly thin (about 1mm) top and side bezel gives the screen a clean and elegant appearance. When the screen is up and running there is a very slight black border to the top and sides of the screen but this is only about 4mm wide so even when running the screen keeps it’s sleek spacious look. I was also happy to note that the size of the black border does not vary with the scan frequency. With some cheaper monitors I have seen the black border increase in size quite noticeably as the scan frequency is raised, but this is not he case with this monitor.I was surprised to see that one of the reviews written here has given this display a bit of a slating but, based on my own experience, I have to disagree. One complaint was that there was a strong red colour cast that could not be tuned out and another that the scan frequency would keep dropping back to a lower setting. I have my monitor connected to a Nvidia GTX1660 Super via the Display Port input and can honestly say that I have experienced neither of these problems whatsoever, whether I’m gaming (though I’m only a casual gamer), or whether I’m using productivity software and the like.Another complaint (in the same review) was that the monitor disconnects it’s self when switched off but again I have found this not to be the case with my purchase. I can switch off my monitor and it remains fully connected and synced to my PC as expected, there are no problems with remote connecting and any items connected to the very useful USB hub on the back of the monitor remain connected and fully functional. I can only guess that the reviewer was unlucky enough to receive a faulty unit which sounds like it should be returned for replacement or refund.While on the subject of faults I’m glad to report that my display has no dead or stuck pixels and shows no light or dark patches or uneven brightness or colouration which can sometimes be a bit of an issue with less expensive monitors, particularly those with 27” screens.Now not everything in the garden is rosy and I do have a couple of criticisms but these are pretty minor and certainly not deal breakers. One is that the speakers are pretty under- whelming, something which is pretty much standard for slim-line monitors and TVs these days. For general use I have the sound coming out of the monitor via the DP port and have to say that the quality is pretty poor and is definitely on the quiet side. I would say that it’s fine for the burbles and tinkles Windows produces and for listening to the odd video stream but for anything else I find the speakers very much lacking. However, as most users will undoubtedly have speaker and/or headphone set-ups anyway I don’t see this as a big problem.Secondly the on/off and function buttons at the bottom of the screen are small and very low profile which I find makes them fiddly to use. This is not helped by the fact that the legends for these buttons are merely engraved into the lower bezel which makes things very difficult to see. Ideally I would have liked to have seen slightly larger and higher profile buttons and to have some degree of infill to the button legends to make things less fiddly and more visible. But this is probably just me being a bit nit-picky as by now I have got pretty used to using them.In summary I would say that overall this really is an excellent full HD monitor that represents incredible value for money, indeed, based on my own experience so far I would still be just as happy had I paid a fair amount more. I have only had my monitor for a little over a month so cannot comment on long term reliability. However I have used it pretty heavily during this time and, so far, things have been fine, hopefully this will remain the case over time. Naturally if things do take a turn for the worse then I shall update my review and rating accordingly but for now I’m more than happy to give this terrific monitor a definite 5 star rating. Would I recommend this monitor to other’s considering a purchase ? Absolutely !!Best regardsAde.

I'm giving this an initial 5 stars just to reassure you that this monitor is as expected - 27" flat screen with both a UK plug and European one. Also comes with a HDMI lead and a DP lead.At the moment I have a fairly old GTX 960 PC. In the next couple of weeks I'll be building a GTX 1660ti rig that will be a completely different beast. That will really allow me to push this monitor.However, initial impressions - it looks like it costs twice as much as it does, screen is lovely and bright, and it does have some very basic speakers.If you have any questions, ping me a comment.
