The instructions for the decal were very detailed and informative on how to apply it, but I don't remember seeing instructions on how to remove it. The decal is a firm vinyl with low-tack so I can't imagine it being hard to remove, if you wanted to, from any surface.

How do you put it on? Letter by letter?

All the letters are attached to an application tape. You put the application tape on the wall and rub only where the letters are. The letters will stick to the wall and then you slowly peel away the application tape and only the letters will remain on the wall. If you look up wall decals on youtube you can get an idea of the process.
