Romantic and real
I read this book as part of a book club.We have the story of Farrah and Jace.Farrah is young and struggling with keeping everything together when her parents are killed.Jace is her big brothers best friend.Forbidden love - YES!This story was a slow build and isn't one for fast satisfaction. I enjoyed the dance between Farrah and Jace as they tried to fight their attraction. There is a major twist in the book which left me frustrated. That's what good books do. They leave you questioning what these characters are thinking. It is a little long for a Romance but none the less I enjoyed it. I liked the intricate relationship between Farrah and Jace and Nathan (brother)The book is well written and although it wasn't my favourite book ever, it was a decent read. I would recommend to people who like a depiction of a real relationship, with all the highs and lows that come with it.

Second Chance or Not
It is absorbing yet scary. But if you have ever had a crush on anyone you will have sympathy for Farrah. She had a crush on Jace forever. And he knew her secret but never acknowledged her fascination. After- all, she was his best friends sister. To love her was taboo. In his mind. Forbidden. Friends to lovers. Not.But, unfortunately, during a hold-up Farrah's parents are killed and Jace feels guilty because he thinks his attempt to save them was in vain. And might even have led to their death. Full of guilt and remorse he moves out of town. What happens in years later, when he returns makes this book a MUST-READ. Experience a cacophony of emotions. Pain, anger, regret, unrequited love and more... as you read.

A good read
Farrah fell in love with Jace when she was still a child. She grew into a beautiful woman but her brother, Nathan, was over-protective, and wouldn't allow her to have a relationship with Jace, even though Jace was his best friend. However, Farrah and Jace became romantically involved, but things happened and Jace left town for 3 years, returning with a girlfriend. You'll have to buy the book to find out what happened next.

A book of two halves
This particular book seems to be a book of two halves. The first part for me seemed to be really drawn out, and possibly in my interpretation a bit slow, and lack that sparkle that all of Penelope’s previous novels have. However second part was to my mind much better. Couldn’t put it down, didn’t want it to finish and so very heart rendering, tender and descriptive. The characters are always so real. The storyline is different. Enjoyable, but the second half as I say was Penelope at her very best.

Another fabulous book from Penny Ward
I absolutely loved this book. You will have read the blurb and other reviews so I won’t go into detail here.Beautifully crafted, it was so easy to fall into Farrah and Jace’s world and become totally invested in their lives; their chemistry was off the scale. Could not put the book down. Heart in my mouth at times. Such a rollercoaster. Such a fab read.Buy it, read it. I guarantee you’ll love it.

Beautiful, thoroughly enjoyed it
Well worth reading, beautifully written, loved the characters, especially Jace, perfect book boyfriend, I did have a little tear, I think you would be hard hearted if you didn't, but it isn't a tearjerker, there were funny bits, sexy and hot bits, I will be reading more of this author, highly recommended.
