The metal quality of this is great. I have confidence that it will hold my iPad sturdy and in place. There's just a couple problems. I use it with an iPad mini but can't imagine it holding anything that much larger. I also purchased it to use to hold my iPad mini in selfie mode vertically. The only problem is that, when held vertically, it covers part of the FaceTime camera. This is unfortunate and requires me to shift the iPad a little to the left or the right which doesn't feel as sturdy or secure. Overall still great purchase and I would recommend unless you intend to use your ipad vertically with the front facing camera

SmallRig really "gets it"! While most makers of these holders tend to over-engineeer their products, SmallRig just nails it every time! This tablet holder is light, well built, and exactly what I need. I prefer the straight vertical design over the diagonal corner to corner design. For iPad 12.9, it must be mounted in landscape orientation. This holder doesn't flip around trying be everything to everbone. It just holds the iPad 12.9 perfectly, securely, even with the case on. I use mine on a tripod ballhead, and the ballhead allows me to maneuver the iPad to any position I require. Like every SmallRig product I have, this is another homerun!

I have ordered this particular item to support my Asus ProArt 14" field monitor screen in my studio / on-location photography sessions. While having more "depth" dimension, compared to tablets or IPads - this screen has clicked in perfectly within this holder, and it seems that the locking mechanism is doing a good job securing the monitor in place. I have no intention to use it in a vertical position, so I don't worry about the screen sliding out. The holder has great variety of 1/4 threads to attach it to various arms, clamps or tripods in any orientation. I"m happy with the product and can advise others to buy it

I’m a big SmallRig fan and have probably owned 30 products from them. Waiting on delivery for a couple pieces right now.I wanted to love this product but I had to return it because it didn’t do what it stated very well at all.The positive is it’s made well just like all of their other products.The negative is I couldn’t trust it to hold a $1000+ tablet. There’s just too much wiggle room and no way to snug it down. I originally would have opted for their tablet cage but it was discontinued unfortunately.With no way to snug it you can’t trust your tablet in vertical mode and in horizontal mode because it only grips a small portion of the center section of the tablet it act as a pivot and just has too much play. Disappointed.

I have many well made Small Rig products that I use with my various cameras, but this iPad mount does not live up to the Small Rig reputation. I'd purchased this mount/holder for an iPad Pro 12.9" and found that it only fits in landscape position. Furthermore, due to the non-grippy protective rubber on the clamps, it cannot be tightened to the point where it prevents the iPad fro slipping, making it impossible to use a tripod head to swivel it into portrait position. If you are OK with landscape, just be careful not to nudge either side of the iPad to prevent it from slipping our of the clamps.Add: I believe that I have resolved the poor grip issue by placing a short length of 3M 'Teak Tuning" tape over the clamp's existing smooth rubber. It the tape continues to adhere to the rubber it will solve the problem, but at the current time it works, and holds the iPad even in portrait orientation.

I use this as a teleprompter for my videos and it fits many tablets with a case. It can accommodate the tablet vertically or horizontally so if you're using a tablet for your video script, you need this.

I needed to have my iPad Pro higher off my desk than all the magnetic stands would provide. So I mounted the Smallrig to a travel tripod and it works perfectly. There are no "wobbles" when touching the iPad while mounted with the Smallrig holder and tripod. And it's super quick to remove by turning the dial on the back. Awesome.

We use it to attach our iPads to light stands or tripods. Fits 12” iPad Pro easily and it is very sturdy and safe.Great product that any photographer, vLogger etc needs in their kit.
