I doubt the LEDs are replaceable without soldering skills. Unless you leave the lamp on all the time, it will probably last for so many years that you will forget when you bought it, in my opinion. If you have a tendency to leave the light on and walk away from it, then you should use the timer instead of the on button,, so the lamp will shut of in an hour.

Does it make any noise when the light is on?

No it does not. It has LED lights and not a fluorescent bulb...which sometimes could make noise.

If you bend the upright section of this lamp as far forward as possible, what is its height?

About 15.25 inches in height if you want the lamp parallel and level to your desk. You can angle the arm downwards more to a little less than 14 inches, but at that point the lamp/light is angled downwards toward the base as well.

Is it hard to keep the light out of your eyes? (LED section doesn't appear to rotate away, like some other lamps)

A little bit...on a scale of 1_10...I'd give this lamp a 9 1/2...You can lower the lamp head slightly to minimize the led glow...This is the best lamp I've found.
