Will this allow me to write smoothly and will the ink bleed out a lot?

Yes it will allow you to write smoothly. the paper if made for that type of ink and it doesn't bleed much at all. It is good paper for this type of writing and the calligraphy ink.

How is this for water based inks Staedtler Fineliners etc? They dry fast and smear free on this?

IMO, water based inks feather too much on this paper, which is fine for practice.

How transparent is this paper? It was listed to use for calligraphy with nibs practice. I want to see lined paper placed under 1 sheet .
