Are the lids in the new style watertight or does water still get in them?

The new lids are horrible! I’ve bought the Oxo storage containers for years and love them. Well they lost a customer. God forbid if you drop these... everything falls out. Don’t hold by top or it will come off!! They surely didn’t do much testing on these lids before they put on the market. I’m not one to leave bad reviews usually the things I purchase I’ve researched and I’m happy with. These containers I bought in a store on a whim when I needed some new sizes... I had no idea they changed the lid till home.

Whats the difference between the old and the new?

The silicone seal is a band on the old that fits into a groove the new has a square one that fits over the lid and according to oxo the new top is fully dishwasher safe the old just the seal. I prefer the old the new silicone seal the new version sometimes comes loose when lifting the lid and I would hand wash either way. Hope this helps.

How do you get water out that is stuck inside the lid? The new lids don't seem to open up like the old ones.

There are two pieces on the inner lid that can be removed. The first is easy to remove, but sometimes the second one is more difficult. I usually let the lid dry overnight without removing the second part.

Do these nest inside each other when not in use?

No they should not nest, as they should all have the same diameter.
