Ludwig M651R Educational Bell Kit w/Rolling Bag

I bought this kit for my 6th grade son who’s joining band for the first time. I looked into renting a percussion set or buying from a music store and it was much cheaper to get it off Amazon at a much better price. It came with a rolling case, xylophone, drum pad, stand and music holder, and drumsticks and mallets. Great deal.

Excellent starter kit for 12 year old. If your child is a percussionist and needs a bell kit I would highly recommend. The bag is great for storing and moving. The stand is sturdy and overall I would give this Bell Kit an A+

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter starting 6th grade band this year. For the most part we are pleased with this set. The case is nice and of good quality. The bells sound good and my daughter is enjoying them. However we are pretty displeased with the mallets for the bells. One broke on the first day, and we had to tape it back together. Two days later the second mallet broke. My daughter is not rough on her things. Like any kid, she isn't perfect. But it is highly unusual for her to break her things. I like the kit, but wish I wasn't already looking for a new set of mallets.

This item is as expected and great quality except the drum pad was scuffed... either from use or poor storage and handling. For this price, it should have been pristine. It works great, though, and it's not worth returning for the replacement drum pad.

Is there a way to dampen the ring of these bells? They ring too much for my son. UPDATE: We carefully tightened the screws holding the keys. That works nicely to dampen the ring.
