One reviewer said handles are a piece of flat metal folded over - creates open channel. Hot oil ran down and burned his hand. Anyone else have this?

Channel or not, pulling food out of hot oil and then holding it past the horizontal will make any oil run downhill and burn you. Don't blame the tongs.

EXTRA HEAVYWEIGHT is the only variant to order!

I've tried other variation of Winco Tongs. Do not order anything, but EXTRA HEAVYWEIGHT option. These are the best and the price difference is negligible.

These are excellent tongs! Well made and solid. Will surely last a very long time. Only thing preventing a 5-star review is that there's no ring or locking mechanism to keep them closed when not in use, making storage a bit of a pain. Otherwise, nearly perfect. Def recommend.
