Transformers Playskool Heroes Rescue Bots Blades The Copter-Bot Figure

I bought "Octimus Prime", as my 4-year-old son likes to call him, along with Chase (the police car) and Blades (the helicopter) to have on a long plane ride with several layovers. We took out one at a time, and it was a huge hit. We predicted he'd get tired of them quickly, because they are not animated or anything like that, but we were wrong. They remain some of his favorite toys nearly a month later, and was a complete sanity-saver on the long flight. They are durable and transform easily, and for the price, they are hard to beat. If you have a little guy who has any kind of inkling about who the Transformes or Rescuebots are, this will be a hit. The ONLY downside would be, don't expect to keep the tools. They disappeared within a week, but he doesn't miss them and still plays with them daily.

I purchased this toy as a Christmas gift for my 4 year old son. The Playskool Heroes Transformers are great for young children. First, they are easy to transform by making one simple movement. This allows my son to enjoy the fun of Transformers without the frustration I remember going through when I was a kid (I'm looking at you Megatron!) There are no removable parts, which also are a bonus, since I don't have to worry about him losing pieces. Finally, their construction is very sturdy and I feel they will be able to withstand the rigors that a typical 4 year old will put them through. Bought all of the heroes in this line for my 4 year old for Christmas, Boulder, bumblebee, heatwave, chase and blades. He was the HAPPIEST boy ever and his 6 year old brother and 7 year old cousin were so so jealous! so far we've had them for almost 5 months and they are going strong, so easy to transform even my 2 year old can do it, which I LOVE because we have a couple of the other real transformers and only mom or dad can ever transform them and that is no fun!! these are sturdy, well made, and my kids adore them. I have no idea why you can't find them in Canada but it was well worth ordering them from amazon to get them! if you're comparing, blades is the least fun to transform cause it's the simplest transformation, but my kids still love it!

So if you have a younger child (under 8 or so) who loves Transformers or the newer series Rescuebots, I would say that these Playskool Heroes are perfect toys. They are a very good size, about 6-7 inches long. More importantly though, they are very, very easy to transform. I think that most kids starting at about 2 or 2.5 can transform these. You basically have to push it down and it just transforms. We got all of these figures a while ago and my son plays with them almost every single day. He loves them and is very happy with them. Happy kid means happy mom. I definitely recommend these. p.s. I noticed that the Heatwave character and Chase characters had run out and people were trying to sell them for $100-$150 each all over the internet, including at Sears (!!), when it's retail value is about $13! We were unable to buy the Heatwave character at first and I refused to pay black market prices for it. We just waited about 3 weeks and it came back on Amazon Prime for $15. So if you're in the same boat, just wait a while. It will most likely become available again.

My 3 and 5 year old sons love all the rescue bots, and the love affair has lasted 3 months straight pretty much 24/7. These toys go to bed with them. The bots are easy to transform and very durable. They also love the accompanying show, which is appropriate for small children. They liked Blades the least...until I attached the hook to the helicoptor blade with a string! Now they often fight over Blades because he can rescue guys with his hook and swing them around. There are actually so many ways to play with these toys. Try Rescue Bot bowling- set them all up in a bowling pin configuration and roll a rubber ball at them to knock them down. Use a timer to see how long it takes to transform all the bots into vehicles and back again. Play the name game (me mi mo meatwave...). Make a video of your kids explaining to others how to transform them. Build lego "houses" for each bot. Learn the them song (A routine patrol with four bots in stasis...) and sing along! My only problem with these toys is that my boys love them so much they often fight over them, which is when my husband and I wish they were never invented :)

Both my sons age 4 and 6 played with these at a friend's house many times before I decided to buy some of our own. I know from my friend who's two boys are the same age that these are really durable and they play with them all the time and have friends over to play etc. We've only had these a short time, but both my boys play with them quite often, nothing has broken or come apart and they get to use their imaginations. We might even buy a few more!

Son has 'borrowed' this from a friend for months and absolutely loved it so now bought one for his birthday. Old one has proven to be sturdy and easy to change so assuming new one will too. Arrived promptly and with no issues.

This is the best Blades figure you're going to get for the best price. They only made this version and the original version in the larger, heavier style before releasing exclusively Rescan versions which aren't as good (though are more show-accurate). The original version can go (especially never opened) for upwards of a hundred dollars but this one (for now at least) is still a steal. Also, it is better to get this in the plain, cardboard box (frustration-free packaging) than the store packaging because it's been covered up so will be in better condition when it arrives. So good I might order a second one!
