Portable convenience with great battery life! A true life saver.
This portable carbon monoxide detector is a life saver, and I mean literally! It has many use cases. Do you want it to be your 1 and only detector for an entire household? No, of course not! Its meant to be portable. Take camping, take into your RV. Take it to a hotel, whatever the case is.I can tell you this, it is coming with me anytime I travel from now on. Its coming to hotels or anywhere else I go!It has a bright LED display. It showcases the carbon monoxide level large and front and center. Then it has the humidity level, temperature, and battery level indicator as well. You can set the PPM detection (parts per million) to a higher or lower value depending on your use case. Its extremely portable, extremely convenient, and it includes a strong magnet that you can use to mount it or a paracord with a carabiner attachment to hang it on a thumb tac or nail etc.The biggest downside is the volume. For the size you knew it would lack somewhere and its the volume at which the alarm goes off at. Its not the loudest. I haven't tested actual dB levels but its not waking up the entire house. Keep it close to you in a hotel for sure. The battery life is great. I find myself charging it once a week for about an hour. It is USB C rechargeable.

Good product
Works great, I just wish the viewing angle was a little better as you have to be right in front of it to read the digits. That's minor and product works as intended.

Helpful for furnace conversion work.
My DH is working on a couple of small furnace installs and conversions. We got this so he could make sure jetting down the propane didn't cause an increase in CO.So far, so good. The readings seem to be consistent, the alarm is sufficiently alarming, and we have not had any issues with battery life.It is nice to have the additional check step and not just trust mathematic calculations.

Wildly inaccurate in the worst way
I bought this to corroborate active carbon monoxide alarms and diagnose the source. It promptly registered upward of 250ppm CO next to our heater vents, with zero in clean outdoor air or at a friend's house. That's far into the danger zone, so we called an inspector from the gas company, who found nothing (his meter read zero), and later asked the fire department to take a look. The fire department used a meter that is calibrated daily against a 4-gas mixture that includes CO, and it read zero the entire time that they were in our house, including while up against a vent at the same time that my meter was reading 200ppm. We later discovered that the root cause of the alarms was that the units had turned 10 years old at the same time and so were sounding an "end of life" alarm. (Confusingly, this still lights up the "danger; move to fresh air" LED. But what are you gonna do.) The firefighter said conclusively, "there is no carbon monoxide in this house".Incidentally, the built-in thermometer was also off by about 10 °C.This was just about the worst failure mode for this situation. The fire chief said that we did exactly the right steps to calibrate the meter: observe zero in clean air, observe spike near potential source, observe zero when removed again. We even saw some lower spikes when a big truck would drive by. We presume that it's detecting something correlated to carbon monoxide but not actually CO. Our trusting this meter created a lot of stress for us and I cannot anti-recommend it highly enough.

Toxic gas where?
Are you a responsible adult? Do you want to keep you and your family alive? This is for you! It looks so much better than the old school detectors, and I love the easy to read humidity and temperature readings on the screen. (Even tho it gives my teenager an extra reason to tell me that it’s too hot in the house.) We have never heard it “work”, and hope to never have a leak in the house. But, if we do, I have full faith that it would let me know. The test button reveals a surprisingly loud tone that would wake even the deepest sleeper out of their slumber. Just plug it in and go, easiest installation ever!
