Polyanthas are generally low growing bushy plants. They have small leaves and dense clusters of small flowers in shades of white, pink, red and orange. The blooms maybe single or double. They make for fantastic landscape roses, pot roses, specimen roses, hedging roses and climbers. Do not require much water or fertilizer and most of them bloom non stop in clusters through the season. HOW TO PLANT: Remove packaging and soak the roots in water for atleast 2 hours before planting. Remove any damaged or broken roots before planting. Plant in good quality compost ensuring the hole is large enough to accommodate the roots without causing damage. Spread the roots evenly and cover with soil. Firm down by lightly treading on the soil, and water in well. It is advisable to add mulch after planting. Keep the plants free from weeds and well-watered, feed with a rose feed in late season. Dead head regularly to encourage new growth. Pruning is essential to the health of the rose and encourages new shoots to grow. The best time to prune roses is early spring before the growth starts.
