Is it possible to turn off the plama ionizer?

Thank you for providing the information for turning the ionizer off.

For those wondering why you would turn this off, it is not becasue of the smell (it is actually suppose to remove smells), it is becasue it creates a *small* amount of ozone which can be potentially harmful especially to those with lung problems, the young and old or those with compromised immune systems. It can weaken the immune system and make allergy and asthma symptoms worse for those who suffer.

The EPA lists ozone as a hazardous air pollutant. It does occur naturally, but that doesnt make it safe at all. The levels are listed as

Good: 0-50 PPB (parts per billion)
Moderate: 51-100
Disruptive: 101-150
Unhealthy: 151-200
Very unhealthy:201-250
Anything above this is very hazardous to your health.

The healthy oxygen we breathe is actually dioxygen (2 oxygen molecules), ozone is is trioxygen (3 oxygen molecules). The 3rd oxygen molecule is unstable and wants to attach to something else (it feels like the ultimate 3rd wheel lol) however it will essentially destroy what it attaches to like dust, dander, mold, but also it will attach to anything it can and destroy the cell wall (including irritating and damaging soft lung tissue).

The FDA now require purifiers produce a maximum of 50 parts per billion of ozone. We breathe in small amounts of ozone all the time. You see or hear of the air pollution  warnings often in heavily populated areas and it increases in the summer and high heat.

There are so many things that we breathe as well as ozone that are harmful to us, especially in larger amounts. Many occur naturally but humans and our technology and inventions are making it worse.

So I personally do not see the benefit in adding to the problem we are often creating, with a product that can add further to the issue if I don't have to, instead if you can buy a TRUE Hepa filter air purifier for nearly all home purification needs which will do a much better job.

(There are places and times where it is beneficial and also some places where necessary to use ionic purifiers.)

I am the first to want to save a buck and have something I do not have to replace things like filters, but after a ton of research and my knowledge this is a place I'm willing to give. TRUE HEPA filter air purifier seems worth it 100%

The black one is $100. more than the white one, yet they are listed as if they are one of the same.  Why?

Question 3

you have 3 items purchased together. Does unit come with 3 filters? why extra 4 pack filter plus extra true hepa filters?

It comes with 2 filters, one is paper hepa. The other is charcoal. Life of filters, should be 3 months for charcoal, 1 year for paper. I have owned unit about 2 months. There are filter lights to indicate when filters need to be changed. I am happy with the unit so far.

How do you reset the carbon filter light after changing the filter? I can't find my manual.

Here's the directions to reset the filter light (either the HEPA and/or Carbon Filter):  Taken from the Fellowes website.*Locate the filter replacement icon on the display panel*Press & hold the filter replacement icon for 3 seconds until the unit beeps.  Filter icon will flash amber.  Press filter icon area to alternate between HEPA and Carbon.*Once desired filter is illuminated, press & hold for 3-5 seconds.  A short beep will be heard and the light should turn off.  Repeat process for each filter as needed.
