Buttermilk Basin's Pick of the Crop: 18 Cotton and Wool Projects That Feel Like Fall

Okay, first let me say that I've become a bit of a wool applique snob over the past couple of years because my preference has changed to more traditional-themed projects. Cutesy cutesy and juvenile projects that little kids would like don't interest me. (I can go with whimsical as long as it isn't juvenile.) If your decor preferences are similar to mine, then you will be happy with this book because 15 of the 18 projects are traditional. One other project, the "Trick-or-Treat Door Greeter" has an awesome shaped witches shoe but the lollipop faces are a bit too childish for me so I might just leave off the faces and add decorative stitching instead.I don't know why but I've always liked the look of stuffed wool pears and pumpkins. The ones in this book appear straightforward to make.The book is well written and the pictures are helpful. A stitch embroidery key is provided for each project that includes embroidery. Since Stacy uses fusible web to make her wool projects, the shapes provided are already reversed. Some of the pattern pieces are included with the project pages and pattern pieces that would be too large to fit the 8.5" x 11" book paper are provided on tear out sheets at the back of the book.If I were offered purchase do overs, would I buy the book again? YES. Besides, one of the projects is a SQUIRREL!

What a wonderful book! It is full of exciting choices of wool applique fall patterns that are easy to follow even for beginners like me. The pictures are colorful, the step by step directions are clear and in a sequence that leaves out no parts of the sewing process. This book is well worth the price.

Once again Buttermilk Basin has put out another great quilting book, this time for Fall. It has some lovely Fall projects to get you in the mood for the season.

I love Buttermilk Basin. Couldn’t wait to get this book for 1 specific patter but ended up already making 3 of them. All the patterns in this book are amazing and have clear easy instructions. You won’t be sorry. Well worth then price
