Lubegard Platinum Universal ATF Protectant is a uniquely formulated transmission technology used to convert regular Dexron/Mercon ATF into OEM ATF types. They can perform like highly friction modified ATFs such as: Honda Genuine ATF, Toyota Type T, Toyota Type T II, Toyota Type T IV, Mopar ATF + 3 (7176), Mopar ATF +4 (9602) and others. Lubegard is the number one product used in the transmission repair industry because it's the only product of its kind that has LXE technology. It is an award-winning technology that has gained the use and approval of multiple major car manufacturers and has been the written solution for transmission problems in eight car manufacturers technical bulletins. The professional transmission technicians use Lubegard to convert to dealer-only ATFs, but also to supplement depleted additive packages found in factory fill ATF (the original ATF your vehicle came equipped with). It provides the same (and in some cases better) performance characteristics of a dealer ATF with the added benefits of instant relief from shudder, slipping and noise. It also provides long term protection of the fluid and transmission itself from heat and wear. In order to find out if your vehicle came equipped with Mercon V fluid, Lubegard has the industry's most comprehensive listing of all makes and models, with factory fill and also the appropriate Lubegard conversion product if an alternative is needed to dealer-only fluids. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Follow LUBEGARD ATF Conversion & Refill Chart for proper ATF conversions or use as a protectant with any OE ATF. For normal applications, add 1 oz. (29.6 mL) per quart (Liter) of ATF to the total transmission capacity (including torque converter) with motor idling in park. Do not overfill. Do no use with Ford Type F ATF or in CVT’s. Review: I never thought I would put an additive in a ZF transmission, however I decided to take a chance with this one as my auto was starting to feel a bit tired. I am very glad I did the auto is now running better than ever, enhanced shifting patterns, staying in correct gear for longer, cooler and absolutely butter smooth changes. It took a good hour of driving for the electronics to relearn the new friction properties and then presto absolutely perfect. Don't be scared this product is excellent and is also backed up with OEM recommendations and approvals. Review: Works well

I always use this on all of my cars when I do a transmission fluid change. It really helps with wear and smooth shifting.

I read about this product through an automotive forum as many were touting great results with it. I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey with 260,000 miles on it. Transmission fluid was flushed and changed at a local shop at about 130,000. Started noticing transmission shifting harder almost immediately after the flush. Transmissions are known to be weak on these cars and I was starting to have issues with hard shifting and clunking in my transmission after the flush. It got progressively worse over time. We were seriously afraid to drive out of town in the car. Rebuild on the transmission was quoted at $3500. I had tried a couple of different brands of transmission additives over the past with little results. Decided to do a drain and refill on my Odyssey transmission and add the recommended 1oz of Lubegard per quart on the refill as recommended on the automotive forum. Transmission fluid was very dark and dirty. Drove the vehicle a couple of weeks allowing the Lubegard to work noticing some positive changes. Then did 2 more drain and fills to get all the old tranny fluid out of the torque converter as well. Each time adding the 1oz lubegard to each quart put back in the tranny. Be careful of over-shocking the transmission by adding the whole bottle of lubegard at one time. Only add the 1 oz per quart of transmission fluid put back in the transmission at the time of fluid change. I ended up doing 4 drain and fills on my transmission to get all the old transmission fluid out and adding the Lubegard with each change. Drives like a completely different car now. Be cautious flushing your transmission out if you are having transmission issues already. Drain and fill is much better since you are only replacing about 1/3 of your transmission fluid at a time and it slowly cleans without a massive shock to the transmission system. I have since used this on my 2 other vehicles and am very impressed with the product.

This stuff helped the shudder in my Chevy truck transmission. I changed the fluid and added this product and it seemed to stop the shudder and the transmission is shifting reliably and normally again
