Update (2/1/2017) I went for my 6 month cleaning/checkup today. My dental hygienist said my gums look great!!! The gum pockets have returned to normal. She had nothing to clean either! There was zero plaque/tartar on my teeth. I'm a believer in Xylitol and water flossers! In July 2016, I was diagnosed with some gum pockets 4mm deep. I decided to get more proactive with my dental hygiene routine and bought a water pik and this Weltab attachment to clean my gums and apply xylitol directly to the affected areas. Before bed: after brushing and flossing (with xylitol paste and floss) I used this attachment to clean between my teeth and along the gum line. Other things I did to boost gum healing: I kept a bottle of water by the bed with a packet of xylitol in it to drink if I woke up thirsty in the night. I rinsed with Manuka honey a couple of times. I put xylitol I'm my first cup of coffee for a few weeks. I also started taking oregano oil gel tabs and did some oil pulling on occasion with oregano oil and coconut oil.i didn't get around to the dental probiotics however, I tried to eat more yogurt and kimchi.

I've used it about four weeks with my Water Pic. Before I had used half of the WELtabs, the WELtip was spraying water and dissolved xylitol out the seam between the top and bottom of the WELtab compartment. The compartment has no gasket; it is not screwed down but has a slot-and-peg closing mechanism. There is no way for me to make it tighter. Now that I've used it, I wonder what the real advantage is over simply dissolving granular xylitol in the water tank.August 1, 2016, I wrote this in a reply below:I've changed my rating to 4 stars. Weldental sent me a replacement (two actually, one of which I gave to a relative with a Waterpik). I've used it several weeks now without it leaking between the seams. I don't always load a xylitol tablet into the chamber. During this test process I learned that WaterPik brand tips evidently wear out. I had used the same WaterPik tip for years. The new WelDental tip seemed better, then I put in a new WaterPik brand tip and it was the best of all. I'll keep using the WelDental, and replace it periodically. It's a little hard to open the xylitol chamber with my old wet hands, but after I practice more, I'll be using their xylitol tablets more often. If it starts leaking again after more open/close cylces, I'll report it here.I was impressed with their customer service response.

We got these in June and love the way they work. Xylitol is great for reducing plaque and makes your mouth feel fresh and clean for a long time. However, we had a problem after a few months with the tip body cracking. Once I contacted the company, they immediately replaced our units with new ones, indicating a slight redesign. Excellent customer service and communication. I highly recommend both the product and company.

I purchased this for my sister after using this product for several months. She already was using her Waterpik daily but was having gum issues. I just had my 6 month checkup and my hygienist said my gums were some of the healthiest she has seen in someone my age. I will update after my sister uses hers for a few months.
