A Vast Improvement Over the Stampede and Vulcan
Among the very few fully automatic dart guns Nerf has ever made, this one is simply the best. It is smaller, lighter, quieter, and shoots at a faster rate than either the Stampede or the Vulcan. It has a well-made feel to it (as most of Nerf's dart guns do), it feels comfortable, and there are no parts that creak as if they're going to fall off. It's also nowhere near as finicky about being used as the Stryfe, which I think set the high bar for being annoying about having a zillion-and-one ways and so-called reasons for stopping you from firing it. It is possible to do single-shot firing, as well as just holding the trigger to spray darts. The only caveat is that you have to disciplined enough to remember to continuously hold the lower trigger to keep the flywheel motors running -- if you don't, then single-shot firing can easily result in jamming on a dart. It is a shame that they're selling this with just an 18-dart clip -- at least the Stampede was shipped in an elaborate kit that included multiple clips and a bandolier belt to carry them. This gun deserves to be provided with a similar set of equipment. But, to be honest, this gun doesn't really come into its own unless you use the 35-dart drum magazine with it. I've tried this combination, and it really makes this the complete keep-your-enemy's-head-down kind of gun. There are only three complaints that I would put against it... 1) The motors driving the flywheels really are noisier than they need to be -- the motors in the Stryfe are definitely quieter. 2) The ability to attach barrel extensions to the front of this gun is not well implemented -- almost all of the barrel extensions wobble in place a bit when attached to the front. On the other hand, this gun is already sufficiently long that it's hard to see why you would want to make it much longer -- maybe Nerf has some other forthcoming barrel extension in mind? 3) The battery compartment really should have been put towards the rear of this gun -- with the battery compartment being built in up front, this gun is a bit nose-heavy, which makes one-handed operation a little unrealistic -- if the battery compartment had been put towards the back, the weight of the four C-cells could have been supported by a fore-arm. Only the first complaint is what I would call a significant one -- the noisy flywheel motors take away any possibility of sneaking up on somebody with this with the motors running. It's the one advantage that the Stampede and Vulcan have over this gun -- neither of those guns needed to make a sound at all until you were ready to pull the trigger. If you carry this dart gun with you, you'll need to have a simpler manually-operated spring-type dart gun for that initial sneak-attack shot -- and then you can use this dart gun to spray darts when everyone already knows you're there. I recommend this. An update -- 11/6/13... I still recommend this dart gun. However, I also recommend setting aside its 18-dart clear plastic clip and picking up one of the 35-dart drum magazines to use with it, instead. Having had this dart gun for a while, I'm noticing that the spring in the 18-dart clear plastic clip seems to have become somewhat weaker, and the something about the plastic that the clip is made from somehow causes or enables a great deal of friction between the tips of the dart and the interior of the clip. As a result, the darts don't immediately move up the clip as they are fired, which appears to be leading to frequent jamming. The 35-drum magazines seem to be made of a plastic that doesn't suffer from this weird friction issue -- I don't know if it's actually a difference in the plastic material or maybe a slight difference in smoothness of the interior that causes differences in friction -- but the darts do seem to stick more to the interior of the new clear 18-dart clip. Also, frankly, the 35-dart drum was always the better choice for a dart gun like this, anyway. It can go through darts so quickly with its rapid rate of fire that an 18-dart clip is used up too quickly.

Overall a 10/10 fullauto nerf gun!
I honestly really really did love it! Me and my buddies wanted to do a huge nerf battle and I wanted myself a nice motorized fullauto nerf gun with a good dart-mag size (comes with one 18 rounder mag) For delivery, it came in perfect box condition with no huge problems! Only thing I would note is in the item photo it shows the nerf gun with a See-through style dart-magazine but mine came with a full orange non-see through one but never the less the mag works fine and are the exact same other then Visual look (I bought 3 see through dart mags for fun and didn’t notice any performance difference) anyway It takes 4 C-type batteries and it wasn’t that hard to put in. overall from playing with it and using it in the nerf battle it fires pretty darn fast, far, accurately, a really good size/weighted nerf gun, lotta different rails for attachments and adjustable stock! Only real negatives I gotta say is loading all 18 rounds in the dart-magazine will most likely lead to nerf dart Jams. so From testing and playing with it I learn loading the mag to a max of 15 darts makes it run flawlessly with no dart jamming (and that is still a pretty good amount of darts in one mag) and Lastly it is pretty darn loud of a motor I gotta say but that is a forgiven with these automatic nerf guns. So if you are wanting stealth not a good choice But Even with those small down sides I would recommend anyone this nerf gun if they are looking for a great motorized fullauto nerf gun that really just works well and is fun!

Love the auto fire!!!!
I was a Nerf fan (not an enthusiast), but this gun has turned me into a Nerf Nerd! I've got a slew of other Nerf weapons and I've been a fan of the 'blue' bullets (the Elite Strike bullets), so just about any normal Nerf gun can get a little range boost with the elite bullets, but THIS gun adds range to any Nerf bullet put in IT!!! I threw some old 'orange' Nerf darts in a clip for some fun target practice and it gave the old darts about the same 'oomph' (range and velocity) as the new ones!!!! I was thoroughly impressed with that! It is battery operated so that was to be somewhat expected :) The automatic operation is a dream!! I'm seriously buying a 50 dart drum next to throw in this thing so I can fully enjoy it! The 18 dart clip they give is such a tease it's horrible!!!! :) The auto fire is AMAZING!!! It is a Nerf gun so that right there gives it 4 stars from my fandom of Nerf guns :) The auto fire capability, the fact that it launches all my darts so far, has surprising accuracy for a toy auto dart gun and it's size give it another 4 stars, haha :) So now for the cons: it IS battery operated, 4 C batteries at that .... :/ .. BUT, I've been playing with it pretty consistently for a few days now and the batteries have held up pretty well! So it does make good use of them, BUT it is 4 C batteries :/ .. ugh .. that fact right there demotes a star just because it's 4 C batteries .... it's 2014 now and we have smart computers capable of lasting numerous hours on a single charge from a battery that takes only hours to recharge, yet we can't invent a more efficient 'dart launching' mechanism that DOESN'T take 4 C batteries???? .. ugh.... That being said, I like to hack my toys and this one is BEGGING to be hacked, so my first goal is to hack the batteries for something rechargeable and longer lasting... Aside from the 4 C batteries thing, this is a GREAT toy to run around and terrorize my kids (real and animal) and wife :)

this gun is so awesome!!!! first,it is full auto so you can rapid fire it without reloading again and again.it has adjustable stock so it is very comfortable. its built sight is kind of useless but still it makes it look cool.it has an 18 dart see - through mag which has a very good capacity and also looks cool.it can be modified a lot as it has 5 tactical rails.it also has a barrel attachment point so you can add barrels like the retaliator one.but the flip - sight is pretty childish.my only complaint is that it requires 4 c sized batteries which makes the gun quite heavy.overall, the gun is great and worth its price.

la compra ha sido nefasta. Al tercer uso se ha estropeado y ya no funciona, Tenemos varios modelos en casa y con diferencia la peor. Mi hijo está realmente decepcionado con el funcionamiento y nosotros con la compra
