This is the scoop to buy. At first I bought the aluminum one. It gets way too cold and frost bit. Then I bought a plastic one. It ended up being flimsy and broke in 3 days. Then I saw this one. It’s just right. Just like the three little pigs. It’s not too cold, it’s not too flimsy, it’s just right. It’s durable, its grip is comfortable, and it is easy to use.

This scoop is perfect for icemakers! The magnetic handle offers a way to keep the scoop out of the way but still convenient. Because the handle is plastic/grippy, the magnet itself is not exposed, so there is no danger of scratching your stainless steel or other surfaces. The convenient magnet feature also helps remind people to not leave the scoop sitting in the ice bin, where germy handles touch the ice. Instead, party-goers or kids actually want to hang the scoop back up outside of the ice machine... because it's kind of fun! I purchased one of these scoops for myself after receiving a countertop icemaker as a gift. There was nowhere to set the scoop that came with the icemaker, so people would either leave it sitting inside the bin (gross!) or put it on top of the machine, leaving water to puddle. However, with this magnetic scoop, the problem of where to store the scoop is solved. I simply hang it on the side of the ice machine, where it's handy and not cluttered looking. I have since bought two more scoops as gifts for friends with icemakers. Such a clever idea! I wish it were American-made, but that's a conversation for another day...
