Yes, you can use it in place of an ironing board if you'd like! It's very portable and doesn't take up as much space as a fold out ironing board, and it would be perfect for a quilting project!

Q: Will this fit on the 9x9 press?

I don't know why not! I don't know the exact measurements but it's just the right size for my original Easy Press. You can't even believe how much better it works than using an ironing board! I highly recommend it! HTH

Q: What are the benefits of using a mat?

It protects the surface you are using the heat press on and gives you an even surface.
