Good quality bright projector
Very happy with it so far, lets hope it lasts longer than the four years (or two lamps) my previous Optoma projector lasted.

Love optoma but disappointing
So I have an optoma HD145 x which is superb in every way, except not 4k. So I upgraded to a big disappointment. Firstly most of what I watch is 3d, this is hard to sync up, I replaced my HDMI with a £50 cable as I thought it was that…it wasn’t. Then I found if I turned on the dvd/amp first, then this it helped but still not right. The colours are all over the place, even 15mins changing settings didn’t help, simply not good. Normal 4k is great but 3d is terrible. I have a bespoke cinema room so it has to be right, the lens constantly fogged up, almost like it was continually smeared with grease. Amazon offered a full refund as only 10 weeks old. So now upgrading to an optoma laser, let’s see what 2 grand buys you these days.

Good projector (upgraded from a yaber y30)
Great projector upgraded from a yaber y30 1080p, trying to find a 4k projector to replace my 65" 4k tv to get a bit more space and I think i have done it with the optoma uhd38, i was a bit hesitant to getting it as others have had issues with it not working with the fire stick tv but my 4k fire stick works perfectly fine and gives me the options of resolution. I haven't particularly tried gaming mode as it seems great without it being on. I have it 10FT away from the wall and I am getting a 93inch screen (can see from picture), it gets hot but not too noisy cooling down, volume is loud lowest is 1 and its fairly loud and clear. don't think I will be getting or trying another 4k projector as I think this one will do/last. Had it about 2 days and enjoying it so far.

Want 3d stay away from this

Good, bright, projector
Liked the ease of setup and the LUMENS which help. I became obsessed with the ability to have an outdoor cinema that I could use in relative daylight - this does that (with a decent anti-light screen). The biggest dislike is the lack of an HDMI Arc connection - so a soundbar needs to have a toslink optical connection ...Mine doesn't (Sonos user). The onboard sound is ok but not amazing.

Good 4k projector IF you change settings.
I previously had the Optoma eh400+ which was great but just HD. So I'd thought i'd go for the 4k upgrade. I'm writing this review because without making some changes to the colour settings this this projector is not good, especially in 3D. Also, my projector has some issues that are annoying but not enough to send it back. Perhaps niggles that will be fixed in later editions? So for starters i'd recommend you take off the Brilliant Colour setting which by default is 10. This oversaturates colours and ruins bright colours particularly in 3d. Secondly for 4k HDR you have to turn the dynamic hdr setting on to auto. BUT if you want to watch a 3D movie you have to turn the dynamic hdr OFF. Otherwise it creates a horrible effect to the 3D and is painful to watch. Wish I'd known that earlier. Ruined a whole 3d movie.Bright mode is fairly noisy on the fan and is really only bearable when you have a surround system on at full volume. The good news is the eco setting is quiet and in 2d actually makes the darker areas look better. There's still a hum from the projector but it's bearable. Kind of like the hum from a guitar amp.Be aware that the projector has to sit a long way back to get a big screen. It also has a dark grey border around the whole picture all the time, but you can live with it.Another negative is i get two light flare spots around the screen. I had to put some tape near the lense to dull one of the flares. They're outside the screen but distracting. Also, sadly my projector had some slight smudging in the lense in the bottom right hand corner. Not visible with movies, only when the football's on. Took off a star for that.Blacks are a dark grey. You get used to it, just don't expect oled tv quality in dark areas. In 3D mode the menu system in the projector slows to a grind. Something wrong in the software. Again, I can live with it.When the system auto swaps between resolutions it goes to a green screen for half a second. Again, can live with it but not great. The positives are:The price! I can put up with all the problems because it's still a third the price of other 4k projectors.Other than no real blacks, the look (once adjusted!) is really good particularly in 4k hdr. A dark room is best.Gaming. I found I didn't need to switch on enhanced gaming as the response is fast anyway. Excellent for gaming!3D. After fixing the settings, the 3d with dlp active glasses is brilliant.Overall, I'd recommend this projector if you want 4k at this price. Just make those colour menu changes!

Really Poor Brightness 🌞
Advertised as a bright 4000lms projector. My old epson projector half the price is brighter. Also keep powering off. Gutted how poor the brightness was on this. Shame because in pitch black was a cracking picture

INCREIBLE CALIDAD

Buen Proyector, Distancia Focal correcta
