A Fine Blend
I ordered this product for my own personal use. It is an excellent blend of dark roasted coffee. The San Francisco Bay French Roast Coffee is dark roasted and very flavorful. It is of excellent quality!! No doubt anyone who loves a rich, dark coffee will be delighted with this product.

Honest Rich Full Flavor
This is a very good coffee bean and I was delighted to learn from the packing that it is a family owned and run business. Using a hand grinder and Fresh press to brew, the result is a rich, full flavor that retains itself in a thermos even overnight. Currently on my second bag, this is a coffee I intend to continue reordering; it is the result of trying 4 or 5 other brands on the Amazon site. My 5 star bean is "Art of Darkness" roasted by Camp 4 Coffee in Crested Butte CO, I've been enjoying it for some 6 or so years. I have been enjoying copious amounts of coffee every day for some 60 years and like the sense of variety provided by using two different roasts. For reference, the Grizzly Claw roast from Kicking Horse Coffee is my third favorite, but it's pricing and availability seem problematic. I've no hesitation in highly recommending San Francisco Bay French Roast, it is an honest full flavored, rich bean, smooth in delivered taste.

Way smoother than Starbucks, costs less, and is my all time favorite top two
I bought this years ago when I was feeling cheap. I thought I would save money over the Starbucks French roast and sacrifice some flavor. Wow, I was surprised at how much more I like this over Starbucks French roast. I find this smoother, less bitter, and less acidic. I had a coffee snob friend (meant as a compliment) try this in his several hundred dollar coffee maker and he also liked it much more than Starbucks (his previous coffee of choice). His coffee maker is also super nice, but I will stick with the Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew. The fact that this whole bean coffee costs less for more than Starbucks is an added bonus. I just hate that it is much cheaper at a warehouse store that is always a mad house. I sometimes buy on Amazon for convenience, but it is significantly cheaper at the warehouse. The only competition this coffee has is Pete's, which is not cheap but very, very good.

I discovered San Francisco Bay French Roast at least 13 years ago at Costco while still living in the states. Nothing compares. Once in a while this is not available and Star Bucks is substituted. Almost (but not quite) the same. I live in Belize and the price to come stay with me is at least 3 pounds of this great roast. If you want to get the TOTAL benefit - get a hand cranked mill grinder. I do this for special occasions but use my Cuisinart electric one for everyday. I limit myself to two mugs (not cups) each morning and what is left goes into the pitcher in the refrigerator for iced coffee.I splurge on really hot days and fix myself a glass filled with crushed ice, then coffee and topped with cold cream. That is virtually a virgin Kahlua - ala fonce - mist.
