This is the fourth dog harness I have ordered through Shaun Co. This is a fantastic product. It is SO EASY to put on and is very secure. The material is durable and very high quality. Sizing is accurate and I love the selection of colors and patterns. My rottie mix looks so cute in the camo (our most recent purchase); we did a bright blue on my pyr/husky mix that has not faded at all; and florals for a foster pittie girl and my stepmother's super enthusiastic lab. The harness is thick but not bulky, and my dogs seem comfortable (no itchiness or attempting to get it off). It's a great buy and I will forever use this brand of harness when needed.

This is the best harness I've used.It fits perfectly and comfortably on "Stewie". It holds him very securely while having only one snap. Super easy on and off and multiple connector rings. We love it.

REVIEW UPDATE:A ShawnCo representative, Ali, contacted me about the experience I had with the Essential Harness, expressing sincerest apologies. Ali asked for more details about the issue to better understand what happened. Ali also explained why they have the velcro on the chest strap fasten inwards toward the dog's chest, which is to prevent the strap from loosening over time and the possibility of the dog escaping the harness. ShawnCo issued a full refund for the harness, and 24 hours later Ali contacted me once again to advise me that they have eliminated the velcro closure on all of their halters. They now have a slider on the chest strap for easier adjustment and loosening if required. I was surprised that they were able to do this so quickly. I looked up the harnesses and sure enough every style of halter they sell on Amazon now features the new style of chest strap on the harnesses.Now, this is what I call stellar customer service! They obviously love dogs and respect their customers, operating their business with a safety over profit mentality.I have ordered the Essential Pro Harness and should receive it by this evening. Can't wait. It is a very high quality and good-looking harness and knowing that it has been redesigned to prevent such an experience ever happening again is very reassuring.********I do NOT recommend this harness for small dogs. It's very dangerous. I had to cut the harness off my 6 month old yorkie when he got tangled up. The problem is the front chest strap. It feeds through a ring and doubles over so that the velcro side is inward facing the dog's chest. When I first got this harness I recall having a difficult time adjusting it to fit my dog because of how it fastens via velcro from the inside. I had to remove the harness several times to adjust the width of the chest strap so that it fit properly. I wish I had returned it at that time. The pull side of the velcro should not be inside facing the chest, but outside away from the chest. My dog's left foreleg became entangled which caused the harness to hug his chest and I could not fit my skinny fingers inside the chest strap and had no space in which to pull it way to release the velcro. Hope this makes sense. I gave the harness to my dog to use as a chew toy, and I switched to a step through harness which is way safer. All attachments, i.e. clips, velcro, are on top of the dogs back. And step throughs are cheaper as well. Some people criticize the velcro as wearing out, but so what? You can get a new one for $12. The only good thing I can say about this harness is that it's well made and looks good. Perhaps this harness is safe for large dogs, but it is certainly not for small dogs with tiny legs.

This is an attractive harness and appears to have the appropriate padding to insure the dogs comfort. 3 Drings and a handle on the back of the harness make it convenient for maintaining control of our dog. It's also easy to attach and remove. That said, the only drawback is because it only clasps behind the front legs it has an annoying tendency to slide around to one side ot the other.

These harnesses held up great for months and months of constant use. We moved cross country with our two giant dogs who were not very well trained on leashes. They pull hard. Well they use too. After awhile they got use to our adventures and they loved when I'd get their harnesses out. They'd actually sit patiently for me to put them on. The snap on and off so easy. The design allowed me to leash them together too. It's a great product! I need to buy new ones soon just for my own aesthetic reasons because these are now faded from lots of sun and water use. But they are still holding strong and functional. Sizing was easier than I thought too. Fit my fat chunky boy no problem and my skinny big boy. They are a ridiculous pair or pups but wonderful and I only get the best for them. I highly recommend this harness.

I bought this Shawnco dog harness in Sunset Orange in a small for our beagle it fits him very well and is so easy to adjust and put on and take off. It has a reflective strap below his neck which would make him easier to be seen at night. This harness is well made and looks great on. Jack seems to be very comfortable in it. I would definitely recommend even though we’ve only used it one time since getting it to take him to the vet. We love it!
