Last a long time!
My dog loves to chew things. It took him over 2 weeks to make this disappear.

Great treat!
My 2.5 yr old Jack Russell LOVES these. He has pancreatitis and these are a nice, safe treat that keeps him occupied for a few days. I love that you can "puff" them up. Highly recommend.

No crumbs, no odor, no danger, all fun! Great for hardcore chewers AND toothless wonders!
I think Himalayan Dog Chews are just the coolest thing. I sincerely get a kick out of these guys. They are so simple yet so unique, and most importantly, they make my dogs happy. If you're toying with the idea of buying these, I *highly* recommend that you do. I spoil my dogs rotten and experiment with all kind of treats and toys, and these are really, really impressive. For dog and owner both. The bigger sizes can be pricey, but I'd buy. Utterly worth it. Luckily, I have littles, and for some reason, the bitty ones are a better value. Ounce by ounce the cost is the same, but with the little ones you get several treats instead of one. I love that, compared to virtually every other chew on the market, these things make *no mess* and have *no odor*. They are a good shape and size for handling and chewing. The small ones are heck to step on in bare feet, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. My 12 lb papillon and 15 lb chunky dachshund can get a nice firm grip on a chew and spend a pleasant afternoon with it and there will still be enough for another go. I do take them away when they reach choking-hazard size, and I wish I didn't have to, but I get nervous. They are rocks, after all. But they don't go to waste: I save them up to give to my uncle's 4 pound mini Yorkie, because then they're normal-sized for her teeny mouth. These treats are fun to tell your friends about. Doesn't "Himalayan Dog Chew" sound impressive? Far classier than "pizzle sticks"! Those things are the antithesis of these elegant treats. I call them "cheese" as in "Do you want your cheese?" "Where's your cheese?" "Quit burying your cheese in my pillow." Finally, and this is important, regarding my "toothless wonder" reference in my title: The papillon, Gigi, is missing a whopping 9 teeth. (Side note: Little dogs are at great risk for dental problems; get their teeth cleaned yearly!) She gamely tries to enjoy other chew treats, with some measure of success. But these are perfect for her, because she can just gum one kinda like a zwieback and get all the maximum goodness. If you have a dog missing teeth, they can get real pleasure out of these. The action of chewing combined with yumminess. It's a special joy to see her loving it. Gigi's my miracle dog. She's been paralyzed twice, had seizures, pneumonia, been bitten by a Brown Recluse, and has congestive heart disease. To see her settle down with a Himalayan Dog Chew and enjoy one of life's simple pleasures is one of *my* life's simple pleasures. Now you know why I spoil them.

Great for aggressive chewers
My dog loves these and she is an aggressive chewer! This is the only thing that has lasted a while!

Made Them Into Puffy Cheese Cookies
Too hard for my dogs to chew. I had my husband cut them into one inch pieces. I would soak one 2 at a time in very hot water for several minutes, then microwave for 45 seconds. They would get big and crunchy. When they cooled, I gave them to my dogs for a snack. They love the puffy crumbly cookies. I won’t buy them again. At least I didn’t waste my money.

DANGEROUS, DO NOT BUY!
SUPER DANGEROUS PRODUCT, DO NOT BUY! I do not typically write reviews, however after recent events (and after going back and reading reviews warning of additional dangers), I felt obligated to post a review warning others about just what a horribly dangerous product this is! We have 3 small pups of varying ages (the youngest is 2) and we have been giving them the yak milk treats for about 2 years, after receiving recommendations about the safety and efficacy against tooth disease that the yak milks provided. Our dogs loved them. Fast forward to our annual vet, which took place earlier visit this year this week, when we were informed that during the routine teeth cleaning and descaling of our two oldest pups, molar fractures - down to the root, thereby necessitating extraction ($$$$) - were found in both dogs' x-rays. Immediately the vet inquired about any hard bones or toys they had been chewing to have incurred such serious dental damage. The yak milk chews were clearly to blame here, as they are the only hard things our dogs chew on, the rest of their toys being soft, stuffed animals or balls. I returned home and immediately collected all yak milk chews, and threw away 3 brand new packages. I made a visit to the same local pet food store that originally recommended these and they informed me that they no longer carry the Himalayan brand of the yak chews for this reason. This is apparently a very common complaint about this brand! Today, in what I hope will be the final chapter of what has become an epic saga related to these horrible "treats", I learned that my 2 year old pup also has a severely fractured molar and will also require a costly (and completely needless) extraction. I honestly feel fortunate to have escaped with what (in light of others' nightmare surgeries they've had to endure as a result of pups swallowing large, undigestable chunks that become lodged in parts of their babies' internal organs!!!) only minor dental damage ... although the damage to our bank account is not at all an insignificant amount ($1500 for 2 dogs and 1 more to go). I am beyond upset and gobsmacked at the apparent lack of oversight on pet products! Please be warned - these are NOT at all safe. Do not buy these for you pups. Getting the word out via these reviews seems to be the only recourse we have at this time, but if we can save others from the pain and expense of having to deal with unnecessary surgeries, it will have been a worthwhile 20 minutes spent writing this review.

Good treat, but price is too high for just three treats.
I gave these three stars instead of five, because the cost of these are high and they only put three chews in a bag for $12.00! Would it be too much to ask to put four chews in the bag? I have two dogs so after I give them one each, there’s only one left. Ridiculous. Otherwise my dogs love these, and they take a long time to chew down, and I love that it keeps them busy.

Not durable – breaks into small pieces too easily

I have two French Bulldogs who have two reactions to long-lasting treats - they either a) turn their noses up and don't touch them (antlers, rawhide, pigs ears) or b) they destroy them in 2 seconds flat (dried chicken fillets, dentastix, rice bones) so I was looking for something that would appeal to their picky little taste-buds but take them awhile to get through. I tried the Himalayan chews on a whim and honestly wasn't expecting much joy but to my amazement both my Frenchies went nuts over them - in fact one of them carried her chew around in her mouth for most of the day and buried it in her bed when she was called upon to go for a walk. The chews are lasting them approximately a week (with dedicated daily chewing) and not only have they shown no signs of tiring of them, but a couple of doggie visitors have also discovered them and their owners now have them on their shopping lists too!

I ordered the SMALL size for a small dog, but a Large size was delivered which is too big for my dog to chew on. So its a total waste of money. This really is theft.
