Convenient, simple, and effective.
The Dolphin was delivered today (ahead of schedule), and after reading the Quick Start directions, I put it to work immediately. There's almost nothing to it. Connect the waterproof cord to the console, drop the unit into the water, plug the console cord into the wall socket, press the power button. We have a rectangular fiberglass pool with salt water. It has a large sitting platform which is about 2 feet deep. The platform then drops off into the deeper (lap swimming) end of the pool. The pool is 6 feet at the deepest end. I dropped the Dolphin into the deep end then hit the start button. This unit is advertised. It was definitely vacuuming up the debris. It picks up the pebbles, and it actually crawls up the pool wall to the point where at least a third of it breaches the surface, then drops back in. However, I have seen it crawl up the 4 foot wall of the platform, at which time it cleans the platform (briefly), until it blindly rolls off the platform edge, descending into the deeper water. After two hours, the bottom was probably 98% clean. There were a couple of 90 degree corners that it just couldn't quite pick up, so I'm currently running it for another hour. Perhaps I will stir up those two corners next time to give it an assist. Lastly, our pool has two steps to the deeper water. The unit appears unable to crawl up the stairs. Five starts because it is convenient, simple, and effective. Update: In order to get the last 2-3% of dirt left over in the corners and at the base of the walls, we first brush the debris toward the middle of the pool floor. Then, we run this unit for an hour and the pool looks great! ~ We use this unit about once per week and always after the lawn is mowed. ~ I set it on a small 2x4 block to keep pressure off of the brush up front. I also sometimes set it on it's side when it's not in use. Nothing to warp when it's on its side. ~ We gently spray out the debris bucket with the garden hose. The filters on the side seem delicate/fine (which I'm guessing is why the fine dirt doesn't appear to pass through the system). ~ In order to retrieve it you use the power cord to pull it in. It's very light when it's in the water, but when it gets within reach, grab the unit itself. This prevents undue stress on the power cord when it's full of water. Bottom line: This thing doesn't care how blazing hot or ice cold it is outside or how long its work shift is, it gets the job done so you don't have to. Update (1 year later): The Dolphin still does its thing. When not in use we keep the unit in a pool locker in the back yard, except for the console. We keep the console inside the house to keep the electronics better protected. Prior to using the Dolphin, we brush the base of the walls. This makes it easier for the Dolphin to get this more easily. Sometimes I push the button for a second cycle, but it usually does a fantastic job with a single cycle. I've left it in our salt water pool for a couple of nights in a row before. It doesn't seem to mind and it doesn't let go of the debris during that time. I use it year round, usually at least once per week in the warm months, perhaps a little less in the winter. 1 year later, it still does the job very well. I'd never go back to doing this myself. The pool needs enough attention as it is (water testing, water level, filter cleanings, etc.). I do wish that it had a remote control option, something that I could hold so that I could direct it to "mow" the platform clean before plunging back into the deep water. Great purchase! I'd give it 5 stars again. Update (Beginning of 3rd year of use) Nothing has changed from above. I still store the dolphin (upright of the tracks) in the locker outside year round, the console is still stored inside the house. Prior to use I still sweep the base of the walls. This makes it easier for the unit to get the dirt and debris. The pool is clean in about 90 minutes, though I usually run it longer for an extra clean pool. I guess it takes about 10 minutes or so to sweep then set up, but it would take the same time to set up the manual system too. Same with break down, 10 mins or so either way. But of course with the Dolphin I'm off doing something else while it's doing its thing. No parts have deteriorated since it was brand new even in a salt water pool. It's as good as new still. I see newer Dolphin units with a built in swivel in the cord. After many hours in my pool the cord does develop the beginning of a kink (twist) in the cord but the cord is so long that this has never come close to hindering its effectiveness. After use, I lay out the cord along the lawn then roll it back up losing the minor twist for next use. I also see units with optional remote controls. For the large platform in my pool I simply manually (mow) it clean, that is I run it one length, turn it off, set it into position for the next run Turn it on, etc. Yes, I'm in ankle deep water with it as it's running but the platform gets clean in short order. I think a remote control for this short work would take longer. I need it to make several U-turns on the platform, slightly overlapping the previous run. I think using a remote would take much longer. Aside from that we're rarely in the water with the unit. Excellent pool accessory! Simple and convenient. Glad we made the purchase. It certainly is better than cleaning the bottom when it's 100 degrees or freezing outside.

Set It, Forget It, and Enjoy a Perfectly Clean Pool Every Time
The Dolphin Nautilus CC Automatic Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner is one of those rare products that actually does exactly what it promises—and does it exceptionally well. From the very first use, it was clear this thing is on another level. Drop it in the pool, press a button, and it just goes to work. No babysitting, no complicated setup, no frustration. It climbs the walls, scrubs like a machine on a mission, and leaves the pool looking spotless. What really stands out is consistency. Every single cycle, it delivers the same crystal-clear result. Fine debris, dirt, even stuff you didn’t realize was there—it handles it all effortlessly. And the filter is incredibly easy to clean, which makes maintaining it just as simple as using it. Bottom line: it just works. No gimmicks, no headaches—just a clean pool every time. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. This is one of the best investments you can make for your pool.

Ruining brand new plaster
To say I'm livid is an understatement. I just had my pool completely redone, new plaster, new tiles, everything. It's beautiful and white and pristine. I was recommended this vacuum by the person who refinished my pool. He said he has one himself and recommends it to all his clients because it does such a great job. I read a ton of reviews and comparisons still before making my purchase. I saw one review on this same listing on Amazon where someone mentioned it leaving black marks on their pool. I asked the person that finished my pool and he said he had never heard or seen anything like that from it or his clients saying so. I bought the vacuum. There are now black streaks ALL over my stairs, all over the corner where the wall meets the spa, all over the bench seat in the deep end, and yes, there are even black streaks on the pool floor where there are no angles at all. Who is going to fix this? I reached out to Maytronix and I was told to fill out a form and that I will then be contacted to hopefully find a resolution. I highly doubt Maytronix is going to pay for the removal or whatever needs to be done for the marks on my plaster. A refund doesn't fix the fact that a $900 vacuum has ruined an $16k pool remodel. Since this has happened I looked up if anyone else had the issue and found someone on a forum complaining about the same thing and others too. Apparently removing it is very difficult, even with a pumice stone. Also, I don't want to take a pumice stone to my still curing plaster. And yes, I waited the appropriate time after the plaster was complete before using the vacuum. Either way, I'm not the only one who experienced this; others with pools that weren't just refinished had the same issue. One person ended up modifying his vacuum with a bunch of different things to keep it from doing it. We shouldn't have to do this. Make the black parts white, plain and simple. I don't even want to use the vacuum while I wait for Maytronix to contact me bc the marks are just getting worse and worse and darker. DO NOT BUY unless you want to risk it marking up your white plaster. I did read one person with a liner saying it did it to theirs too. Had I known it was an actual issue and not just one random review like I read initially, I would NOT have bought this vacuum. Update: I have had to return the vacuum through Amazon or I was going to pass the return window. Still waiting on Maytronix technical support to contact me. I also messaged the Amazon seller before returning asking if I'd be charged the 20% restocking fee since I'm returning it for the reasons stated above. They said there's a chance I won't be charged. They'll check the vacuum for any malfunctions, etc. When I took the vacuum out of the water before sending back, there were large scuff marks on the sides which is what is coming off on people's pools. It's obvious the vacuum is causing the marks. I wish I would've taken a photo of the scuff marks on it, but I forgot before sending back. Will update after receiving a response to the return. Update on Return: After sending the vacuum back to the seller, they issued a full refund with no problems. I actually decided to purchase another Maytronix vacuum, the Dolphin Proteus DX3 (last photo provided). It came in yesterday and I'm already happy with it. The body of it is white so I'm not worried about more scuff marks and I could see the cleaned trail it left behind it when it made passes. It does pop a lot of wheelies, but it cleaned in one cycle like it's supposed to, so I'm fine with it so far. Also, my pool person said the black marks from the Nautilus should eventually come up ad the plaster goes through it's natural phases of curing, shedding, and all of that. I'm still mad about it and I'll see it every time I go outside. Maytronix is getting a lot of bad reviews for something that's easily fixed.

Packs power without a hard hitting price
I have to say I couldn't be more mad at myself. The fact that I have gone without a vacuum for so long when I could have been swimming in crystal clear water everyday is such a crime! When we first purchased our very own IRL Money Pit, we were in love with the pool. Boy were we wearing our rose colored sunglasses! This pool was possessed and had a hunger for money. After we retrieved over 200 bags of leaves from the belly of the beast we bought a top of the line Dolphin vacuum. Picture any seaside surf shop style pullover nylon jacket of the 80's and that was the color of our 1,700 dollar pool vacuum. More than a number of my vehicles! It worked. It was cumbersome to clean out but it was the early 2000's and we were young first time pool owners. Cut to years later and the vacuum dies, we aren't living the DINK lifestyle anymore. We thought we could eek through to the next time we had a service come out to check the water and clean it. This year had been the worst. From cottonwood trees to an abundance of whirlygigs, the countless leaves and the ultimate, a F2 tornado blew into our yard taking 80 hickories with in and deposited quite a serving to our voracious pool. Hours with the hot sun baking me more and more I broke down on Prime Day and got this midrange vacuum. I was fearful that I would be bringing a never able to be fully dried cumbersome shaped vacuum to the back of Kohl's to be returned but to my SHOCK. This Dolphin is a powerhouse! Up and down the walls with ease. The pool is a 20 x 20 x 20 with roman corners and a 10 foot deep end. Not one time did it get stuck. No missed spots or problem areas. It was showcasing all the best qualities. Ease of cleaning, you betcha! The dual containment filters come in and out with no effort at all. Rinse all the ultra fine to bulky debris out with your hose and you're ready to run again. With a heavy load, it cleared the bottom and sides nearly with only 3 cycles. The 4th one is running as I type. OH...(yep, the GenX ellipsis) you can even control it on an app. I was able to get it set up but still working on the WIFI perspective. A tornado side effect. I am blown away! I am not a sponsored review or benefiting in any way. Just an honest, down to Earth, rambling review. If I was a spunky tiktok influencer, I'd refer you to my links but just order one for yourself today. You'll be the next to write a rambler!

3 years later, mostly happy with this purchase
I purchased my first Dolphin CC in August 2021. What I loved about this robot was its simplicty to set up and use. I used the robot for typical cleaning anywhere from once a week (during winter months when we do not use the pool much) to daily during high-residue seasons like spring and summer when I have an abundance of leaves and debris dropping into the pool. I also have a pool service once a week that helps contribute to the overall pool care. The Dolphin has been exceedingly effective in picking up debris with its suction, climing walls of my pool, and operating as needed for the curves, stairs, and debris level of my pool, consistently leaving the pool picture perfect without ever disturbing us if we were in the pool or enjoying the backyard space (it is hardly noticable in terms of noise). The only issue I had was after 18 months or so, the cable was kinked up, which did not seem to affect it's function), and the filter basket had to be forcibly yanked out causing the bottom section to dislodge. This just meant I had a little more of a mess to clean up from the debris collected during the cleaning. Fast forward to today, just 2 months shy of 4 years of ownership, and the Dolphin CC continues to work (turn on, pick up debris) but it does not move anywhere beyond a 2 square foot space. I'm disappointed in the robot not fulfilling the 5-7 year life-span advertised. My son (who is more mechanical and robot savvy) tried to investigate a cause and solution. He watched a handful of YouTube videos and deteremed that it is a software issue within the robot. The fact that it turns on and starts to function as it always did is what causes me some confusion. I did not store the power source inside but did my best to avoid water / rain contact. In the futurre I may do a better job of storing the power source and machine itself in a storage unit, but part of what I loved about this was the ease in having it outside and ready to go. I have read enough reviews to see this may be typical of the robot to have a shortened life-span and it is also soemthing that could possibly be repaired, but at what cost? Is it better to just reinvest in a new robot? I still give this a sold 4 stars for its functionality. The value itself is also 4, maybe 3.5 stars because I did expect to get at least another year out of my pool robot before having to re-invest. I won't be buying the CC Plus after reading the onslaught of negative reviews and will stick with the Dolphin CC.

Defnite Upgrade from the Nautilus CC
I previously had the Nautilus CC (not plus). It stopped working after about 3 years and I was so fed up with the tangling of the cord that I upgraded to the Nautilus CC Plus. I am very happy with this upgraded version (with the exception of it getting stuck on the steps). Pros: * Cleans a lot more areas such as the waterline and steps * The cord doesn't get tangled (so far) * Can run daily without intervention * No vacuum hose Cons: * It does consistently get stuck on the steps * It is heavier than its predecessor * The baskets are annoying to clean out (but also can be a plus see notes below) I do love the Nautilus CC Plus vacuum and I think it is well worth the investment. Since we upgraded to the "Plus" version our tiles have remained clean with little effort on our part. My husband said he could tell a big difference when brushing the pool, the steps have little dirt compared to previously. The cord! I can't say enough about the cord. The previous version did not have a swivel cord and after a year of use, it was similar to the old telephone cords that would get so tangled you had to try to dangle the phone to let it spin to untangle. Unfortunately, you can't dangle the cleaner to do the same, so no matter how much I tried the cord would just tangle back up in a day. With the "Plus" version it comes with a swivel cord and while you may see large circles of the cord in the pool it does not get tangled and can do its job. This earns major points in my book. My con's are not enough for me not to recommend this pool vacuum. The biggest issue is that it does get stuck on my steps about 80% of the time. It just manages to get at an angle that the brushes/wheels just spin and can't grab anything to make it move. Usually, it is so close to the surface that when it is stuck it is very noticeable because the water shooting from the top (which is designed to push it against the floor and walls) is like a waterfall sound. Due to it getting stuck often, I run it during the morning before I go to work so I can listen to it and redirect it when it happens. I mentioned the baskets were annoying to clean. This is compared to the previous version and it is a + and -. There are two thin baskets to clean. You have to take a part the basket in order to remove the debris which if that is all you want to do is a little annoying. However, if you want to fully clean the basket, hose it down, etc. the fact that it comes apart makes it much easier to run under a hose and remove all the debris. It may be heavier than the previous version but that may be why it works so much better. The fact that it climbs up the wall and rides the waterline, cleans the steps (even if it gets stuck), and has a swivel cord so it doesn't get tangled makes it a great product. I do wish I would have purchased the version that can be controlled by the app but at the time of purchase, it was $100 more. At the time I'm writing this review the app version is the same price I paid so I missed out on that. Next upgrade I will include the version controlled by the app for added ease of use.

The thing I hated the most was the chore of pulling out the ...
We bought a house with a 16' x 36' pool in 2013. This was a new experience for us, and we tried to become pool people... water analysis, filter operation, chemical addition, etc. The thing I hated the most was the chore of pulling out the big coil of hose and setting up the vacuum head on the 16' pole and then spending an hour plus TRYING to vacuum the pool. The 8' deep end was the worst.... All of this to no avail, as every season we ended up with yellow algae problems, frustrated with our efforts, and put off by the appearance of our water. I was beginning to try to calculate how many dump truck loads of dirt it would take to fill the pool in!! I began to get interested in a pool cleaning robot every time we went in to buy even more chemicals to fix our current pool problem, and finally I decided to take the plunge and buy a robot. This was to be my last effort to make our pool work. We ordered the Nautilus Plus by Dolphin/Maytronics, in March and when it arrived I was not sure this was the way to go. The Dolphin set in our house for a few more weeks until we opened our pool (after all the "helicopter" things were through falling from the Maple trees...) Finally, the day of our pool opening arrived... and we gently placed our Dolphin in the pool, and pushed the start button on the control box.... At this point we should cue the music and have a bright spot-light shine on the Dolphin!!! This little monster took off with a vengeance! I was immediately impressed with the amount of water it was moving, and the pristine clear trail it left as it made it's way across the bottom of our pool to the deep end! Maybe 2 to 2 and a half hours later we took it out of our now clean pool, somewhat stunned by it's initial performance! Every one in my family was in awe of it's performance, and we realized that we had, perhaps, turned a corner in our battle to have a clean and inviting pool! Three months in, June 2016, and the Dolphin continues to do an excellent job, and our pool water looks like liquid glass! The Dolphin has become an important part of our pool maintenance regimen, and we use it normally about twice a week to clean the pool. I stress that this is a part of our overall effort to keep out pool in the best shape possible. We still do water analysis and add chemicals... but no where near the same amount as before our Dolphin! We back wash our filter once a week now, so we are saving lots of water, AND most important to me, I no longer have to break my back and take my time to manually vacuum the pool, just let the Dolphin do that thing it does sooooo very well!!! Let me address some of the negative things I have read in the reviews of this pool cleaner... Warranty problems: We have had NO problems with our Dolphin. Right out of the box it has worked like a champion, so I have no comments on the help, support and warranty problems others have posted. Instructions: Yes, the 'bot comes with very little in the way of operation instructions. There is really only one sheet of instructions with drawings on it, that tell how to use the Dolphin... but, if you have even a basic understanding of mechanical things, you should have no problems in making the Dolphin work. Every thing snaps together with ease. Pay attention to how it comes apart and then reverse the process after you clean it... nooooo problems! I guess that Maytronics could do a much better job with the instructions- better drawings and expanded written directions, but I can say I honestly have not had any problems understanding how this critter works. It is very straight forward in construction and operation. Filters: Our Dolphin came with 2 sets of filter cartridges. They are made out of some very sturdy plastic type material and require only a good rinse with the hose to clean. We used the "coarse" set of filters the first time we cleaned the pool, to help get out a few leaves, but from then on, we used the "fine" filter cartridges with great success. We ALWAYS take the time to disassemble the filter cartridges after each use and clean them. We then hose out the inside of the Dolphin to complete the process. Like all things electro-mechanical, normal maintenance and cleaning determine the life of the machine. The filter cartridges are held on the filter frames with 2 rotating snap clips. I think that these could be problematic in the future, but look like they would be easily replaced with a screwdriver if replacement is ever required. Steps and Walls: Yep, try as hard as it might, the little Dolphin is just too big to clean our steps. We just use a brush on an 8' pole to sweep any debris on the steps into the bottom of the pool prior to starting the Dolphin... problem solved. I can gladly spend the minute to sweep the steps vs. the hours plus of time to manually vacuum the pool any day! Our Dolphin climbs right up the walls and runs partially out of the water to clean the pool walls.... it's like it's maaaagic! LOL! Carrier: Our Dolphin Nautilus Plus did not come with a carrier. It does have a very sturdy built in handle that makes carrying it, and getting it out of the pool pretty easy. If you have health problems or back problems, etc. this could be a concern, but we have had no problems here. Also, I have never seen any debris fall out of the unit as I remove it from the pool. That's about all I can think of for right now. Maybe at the end of this pool season, I will follow up with my first season Dolphin results.... stay tuned! I hope this is of help to all thinking about buying a Dolphin. I think this is one of the best purchases I have made in years!!!! We now no longer say we are going to clean the pool with the Dolphin... we now say that we are "RELEASING THE KRACKEN!!!!" LOL! Thank you Maytronics, for allowing me to now enjoy my pool, not just spend hours and $$$ trying to keep it clean!

Incredible warranty processing
I purchased this robot in May of 2024. It works incredibly well and super easy to clean. I normally dont write reviews but the service I just received from the manufacturer needs to be shared. The power supply failed after being in storage during the winter. I submitted a warranty claim on Wednesday (was super easy to do online) and Friday afternoon UPS delivered a brand new power supply. Talk about a company that stands behind their product! Wow. There were absolutely no questions asked. It went bad and they promptly shipped me a new one. Couldn’t be happier with the robot and now I can say the same about the manufacturer. You can not go wrong choosing this company.
