Hands down, this is definitely a lamp you want.I'm a VERY picky individual when it comes to purchasingg the right product, but this one is worth spending $40 on, and writing a review.Comparison:I've bought a different one called LAMPAT dimmable LED something for $26, there are same products on amazon for $40 so beware.Anyways, this Shinight Dimmable is soo much better.Customization:Man, this can turn lighting position in literally ANY angle!When youre on your computer, great.When reading, also great.When writing, guess what? The touch-plate controls work well. Having multiple brightness and color temperature settings are nice as is the extra dim night light setting. Large flat emitter head produces a nice uniform non-glare light source. As others have said the lightweight base does not permit good balance for a fully extended arm. It will tip over. But I have not had to extend it that far for my setups. Overall it is well designed. However long term longevity if you flex it a lot, remains to be seen. This is otherwise a great light for the price.

This lovely little lamp really works just like the ad says. I'm enjoying the great ease with which I can direct light onto my needlepoint project.

The Shinight Dimmable LED Desk light was a delightful surprise from the moment the box arrived at the house. I was expecting a small lightweight miniscule lamp, much like others I have tried before. That was not so with this product. The light was set in a heavy metal floor plated case that made it a very stable unit on the cabinet beside my chair where I placed it. No matter where or how I angled the arm and light, the unit was stable and the joints held steady in the position I placed them in. The lamp surface itself, is large and spreads the light out in a soft glow in stead of a hard glare from a bulb.Instead of you trying to figure out what kind of light is best for your activity, the lamp has buttons for the type of activity you will be doing while using it, such as: reading, coffee, music and visiting. Then you have the ability to brighten or dim the light to meet your specific wattage needs. You also have the choice of plugging into a wall electrical source or plugging [email protected] into an electronic power source for powering up the lamp.When you are not using the lamp or need to transport it, the lamp folds down to a small flat object that can be easily carried or tucked into a briefcase or suitcase.I found that this is perfect for my reading or sewing needs beside my he'd or chair, but would easily be just as beneficial to me at my desk to relieve eye strain while working on books or computer. I really appreciated the soft and blue light technology they built into the lamp, but made it easy enough for us to use appropriately. The media could not be loaded.  Nice desk lamp with a beautiful glossy finish and numerous light settings and adjustments. This is perfect for the office or nightstand, especially with the USB charging port built into the unit. I was sent this item as a review, but can definitely see this as the type of lamp I would purchase for my office.If you are looking for a simple light with just an on and off or maybe just 3 brightness settings, this is not the lamp for you. However, if you are looking for something that allows you to customize brightness and temperature and really fit the temperature to your mood and liking, this is perfect for you. I'm an on and off type of person, but I can use how someone may like this to adjust the light ambiance to help with productivity and mood enhancements.My major drawback of the unit is that it easily tips over depending upon the arm angle. This has happen to me on a few occasions and it is extremely frustrating. I could see this being a problem especially if you are a coffee drinker. The fingerprints are a minor annoyance, but some people may be turned off by it.If you are looking for a unique desk lamp with multiple light ambiance levels and adjustments, give this a try. Definitely would give any office a nice professional lamp with a USB charging port built into the unit.
