This was the cheapest shop stool I could find and I'm pretty happy with it so far. Seems fairly sturdy, comfortable enough & good height to sit & work at my tool box. My boss tried it and ordered himself one as well.

Okay so this Olympia Shop stool is MILES apart from the many options in this price range-- making it a great buy! It's quick & easy to assemble although I'd highly recommend using your own tools (just a 10mm open ended← you'll see why* wrench a #1 philips head & a torx T15 or Allen if you don't have a torx set). *Tip from my own mistake* don't forget to leave the 4 bolts in the center hub loose until after you put the foot/lower ring on! -- I forgot, torqued em down, and then went to line up the legs with the ring, which were of course about a foot off in circumference making it seem like the ring was too small & not matched up with the legs. But I then looked it over and it dawned on me that I was a bonehead and needed to leave those loose for the legs to line up with the lower ring holes. Altogether: Solid! Stronger than the average bear!! I have 2 of the same style craftsmen like it and it's as sturdy if not more so than than either of them. The height is great, especially if you have a high bench with a wide top-- makes it easy to reach your tools and whatever else you have on your pegboard across the bench. No wheels- I overlooked that when I was shopping for this. Easy enough to remedy if you have a setup like mine where you have a corner bench with 12' on the left and 8' to the right+ 2 separate work stations in either direction that you use for your daily workflow- I put castors that can lock in if you don't want to be rolling around unintentionally, yet you are able to get down to one end of your bench without getting up and walking to another stool or even having to move this one around with you - ehhh not cool and I won't lie- it's MUCH more fun to push off the bench legs really hard, and roll fast as hell down to the other end. No? Lol. Me, it makes me feel young again -- I even have spin til you get dizzy contests with my buddy in video chat - this one stays in place, and I have gotten up to 29 360° spins without falling off - for the Gold Trophy in the official "morons in the gun shop Olympics".... That said -- *Stability is great but I I should clarify 1 thing: the backrest mount is not a good design. At all. I've added a little bit of steel and welded it to the frame -- stock version just wabbles and clicks driving you nuts. The L bars are held by sliding female over male, 1 single dimple pin on each side for the back, and same thing underneath with the addition of a micro peen sized twist by hand knob- plastic stuff. Had to go, and be engineered a little bit differently for the sake of rigidity and my own sanity. *1 last thing that kinda sucks but it's not any different than any other design like this-- the padding of the seat. You can push the air out and flatten the seat with a little pressure from 2 fingers. Same thing as the craftsmen, and all of the others that have this design... But dang, after 2 hours my tailbone was like, YO! WHAT THE ACTUAL f---? As my legs had gone numb and I was barely able to get up from the seat. I'm still trying to figure out the best possible way to secure a cushion to it without overbearing the style of the stool. Honorable mentions thus far- took a cushion off the couch. Was too big and bulky, hard to secure (used duct tape for a quick trial) wife wasn't feeling THAT, not one bit. The donut from the wife's skiing accident where she was having a hard time sitting down for a few weeks -- ehhh was just a little too small, and hard to attach. Looking for something like what people who sit in office chairs for 40hrs a week type thing or something else orthopedic like- maybe something from my hunting gear- wait - NOOOOOO!🙄 Well aside from the backrest engineering failure & the lack of cushion in the seat-- this one is a great buy! Solid bones, and sharp looking. I have been using it with it raised to the tallest point a lot FYI, and I am not a small man. I mean, it says 250lb weight limit - I'm 6'2" 185lbs, but I don't baby it- at all. She's tough for her weight class. If you are legit 250+ don't push it & then whine when it gives out at the fulcrum. If you extend the height and you weigh more than 250 or you're 248Lb and think it's okay to have spinner contests, don't be surprised if you break it. There's so many options for the big & tall (the emphasis isn't on the tall, it's the BIG, as in you have big bones! hahaha) just adhere to the guidelines and you will be fine. Anyway, while we're all still the same age here- I'll wrap it up -- And I... Would have to say... OVERALL... I... RECOMMEND!!!! GOOD LUCK! PEACE AND LUV TO YOU AND YOURS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. Til next time... ~EMJEY™
