what is the difference between the red & blue electrodes?

Blue=2% Lanthanated Red=2% Thoriated Green=100% pure tungsten

Can I weld stainsteel and aluminum with this rod

Yes but it probably can only weld thinner aluminum 1/8 or less because aluminum uses ac and a lot more amps then dc steal welding Remember to round your electrod by reducing to balance to 30% until it melts to round ballon end. Then back to 70% and start welding to your aluminum

What type of Tungsten do you prefer for stainless steel . Thank you

This is primarily for running AC on a transformer machine (aluminum, magnesium, etc.). For stainless I would recommend a ceriated, thoriated, or a trimix type tungsten.
