Noticed bottom of tortoise hutch was damp & was forever cleaning it & replacing straw. Now I put a layer of the coconut carpet down with the straw on top. Still have to keep cleaning but at least hutch now not damp & due to being able to wash the carpet can reuse. So it really as come in handy. Reasonable price & quick delivery. Can cut to size & not harmful to tortoise.

These are thinner than I expected and one mat looks threadbare with holes.

great to be used as a bottom supporting/small drainage-like layer and as presented. used under eco substrate and bio active soils, provided great drainage layer and protected the wooden vivarium from to much bottom moisture. also provided a good place for burrowing isopods
