These predator guards are excellent.
I am adding an amendment to my review. I am still giving this product excellent rating. The amendment is because I see that most people are using this product to keep squirrels from reaching their bird feeders. I am using it to keep snakes, racoons, cats, etc. for entering the nestboxes on my bluebird trail. For my uses, this product is perfect to put around a 4 x 4 wood post. I have installed a half dozen of these predator guards on my nestbox trail a few month ago. They are still going strong. Some of my nestboxes are mounted on 4 x4 inch wooden posts. That's what these guards are meant for. They were straight forward and easy to install and seem like they will last forever. You don't have to take down the post to install them.. They wrap around the post. At two feet in diameter, they are also wider than alot of predator guards, so it should be hard for predators to get around. Some people want to build there own predator guards, but not me. If I tried to cut metal pieces, I'd probably cut my hands up as well. Also, if you buy the parts for making a guard, it may be more expensive than you think, making a purchase like this more economical.

This baffle is working, keeps the squirrels from climbing up the pole
The metal is very sturdy, but the design to fit the post is too small. I used a zip tie to force it all together. I haven’t witnessed the squirrels climbing past from the bottom. Just jumping and landing on the baffle itself.

Rodents beware - this thing truly baffles them!!
Alas . . . I now have one less backyard task to accomplish. Having done battle - and lost - with so many pesky grey squirrels over the years, I was losing faith in American ingenuity. Who was going to come up with something that TRULY baffles (no pun intended) our hairy rodents bent on pillaging my bird feeders? I had nearly thrown in the towel when I spotted this little number. Closely resembles a wrinkled Frisbee but about three times the width. I mounted it just above my previously ineffective tube style "anti-squirrel" baffle which as of late, served only to breed a more acrobatic thief. Easy to mount and entertaining too. Watched two attempt to get by this only to fall flat on their backs. I laughed my rear off - then became alarmed as I swear to God, they convened an engineering conference at ground level to more closely study their latest hurdle. They must have thrown in the towel as they decided to move to my other feeder which brings me to my only complain - should be sold in pairs!! My only reservation about the item is its color. Would be nice to have it in flat black. I can imagine the sun reflection from this in a sunny environment baking the paint off my humble abode. My only other concern is my Standard Poodle getting fat from lack of rodents to chase.Carry on . . .

Squirrel Baffle
Very pleased with the baffle. Makes it worth while to put woodpecker food in feeder and I don’t have to worry about the squirrels eating it all.

Squirrels have tried but can't get to feeder!
My Dad made me a bird feeder that the elements and squirrels destroyed. We had a carpenter recreate in his memory. This baffle is keeping the pesky squirrels out, letting birds feed and protecting the feeder.

So far so good
Built a beast of a bird feeder, put it on a 4x4 post and the baffle is over 5 1/2' off the ground. This will definitely ward off the squirrels, but whether it works for raccoons is unknown. I may spray it with a cooking spray.

Crease lines are bad. Does not bend.
Just a warning that (I know a little bit about sheet metal fabrication) the manufacturer is not doing good quality control during production and either the equipment operator, the press machine, or the die/punch is bad. The "scores" or "fold-lines" are not embossed hard or deep enough into the flat metal disc so that when you install it on the post and try to bend it down into the cone shape it won't flex and bend properly. It won't bend or flex or give at all along any of the score lines. I even tried using pliers and tried "crimping" along as i went around it, trying to make those bends in the metal. Basically you can only get a "U" bend shape that both looks bad and doesn't work as effectively to keep the squirrels away. Its too bad because this one was by far the right design I needed.
