If you're looking for a kneeling chair, this is probably the one to get.
Excellent quality to the build, and the cushions are really comfortable. Assembly: -------------- Mine did come with instructions, contrary to what some other folks have said (maybe they fixed that?). The instructions have no words on them, though, so I recommend that you take all the parts out, arrange them in little piles based on the pictures, and it goes quick. Honestly the whole assembly process took about 10 minutes and had 6 steps; bookcases and desks and such have tended to be a lot more complex. Having a second hex wrench handy to fully tighten the bolts that go into shafts with a bolt on either end would not be a bad idea, though. The threads are reasonably long, but I'm not sure how often this might need tightening if you don't use two wrenches at the start (only one hex wrench is included, and I haven't had my kneeling chair all that long, so I can't speak to that yet. It seems okay though.) Build quality: -------------- Quite a bit better than I expected, honestly. I figured it would be livable but on the cheaper end, but this actually feels a bit on the luxurious side, particularly with the seat cushions themselves. The cloth covering is even a nice quality. The metal parts are all sufficiently sturdy, and nicely coated to avoid rust and whatnot. Much better quality than a lot of things these days. I didn't use the casters since I'm using this on carpet anyhow, but from my brief look at them they seemed notably lower quality than the rest of the unit. Not awful, and not something that would break, but I would be a bit concerned about it scratching up my hardwoods if I was using it in a different room. Might or might not be a real issue depending on your floor, and the casters are of a standard size that you can swap out at your local hardware store for a couple of bucks if you really have a big problem with it. I may be complaining about nothing there, but that was my observation. Comfort: -------------- I've only had this for a couple of days, but early impressions are extremely favorable. My 6 year old son was able to sit in it comfortably at the default adjustment, as am I (6'4", 180lbs), which I thought was interesting. My wife immediately liked it, too, and she's between the two of us in size. She gets a lot of pain from regular chairs, much moreso than me, and was remarking that this chair encourages you to sit with proper posture, whereas regular chairs typically encourage bad posture. That seems pretty much to match up with what I feel. I will note that sitting in this is definitely something that you have to adjust to, but that's true of any kneeling chair. If you sit with bad posture in it, your shins will start hurting. If your shins are bugging you, then either shift them off the bottom cushion tempoarily, or sit more erect on the main chair itself. You may need to adjust the position of your keyboard or monitor, as well, or raise or lower the chair, to keep the ergonomic hand/arm positioning you're hopefully already accustomed to. I found that I was accidentally sitting too far back at first, and giving myself some neck pain just from how I was leaning forward to get to the keyboard. Simply scooting the chair 2 inches closer and my arm posture was back to what it should have been, which thus resolved the neck pain. Final thoughts: -------------- It's definitely a new experience, sitting in one of these. However, I'm really glad I got this specific brand. The price was right, and the quality is better than I'd dared to hope. I still have my regular chair as well, and I expect I'll alternate between the two of them. But if "sitting is the new smoking" has any validity (who knows for sure), then I think this is something that certainly helps. I've been having a lot of back pain in general lately, and this is a vastly more comfortable alternative to something like a standing desk. Standing gets my back even worse than a regular chair (walking/running is fine), so this is a really great middle-ground for me. The sellers are also great: quick shipping, a personal note to help with instructions if I needed it, and so on. Definitely folks to support.

Good Chair, Poor Padding
Well constructed and makes my back feel wonderful, however "50% extra padding" isn't enough or the right kind of foam for the knee pad. My knees/shins are sore from a couple of hours use yesterday. I was hoping this would be my full-time at-work chair, but I'm afraid I'll need to modify the pads in order to make it through a full day.

Deep padding and very comfortable.
The chair was a little tricky to put together without another set of hands, but doable. I like that it has one solid knee pad area rather than one for each leg. Makes it easier to get on to and allows for more personal positioning. The seating pad is very thick and comfortable. I'm only 5'4" but it fits me just fine. Any discomfort is merely from weak stomach muscles after prolonged sitting. Only issue I've found with the chair is the wheels tend to lock themselves after moving around awhile.

Durable, great quality, kind to the back and hilarious to watch people try to figure out how to sit in it
I have had mine for 8 months now and I still love it! For me, it was pretty easy to assemble and has continued to be sturdy. This product is very well built. The padding is nice and cushy, and it STILL looks like it's new. It hasn't lost any of it's cushion, no dents, no dips; just as cushy as the day I recieved it! It's also adjustable for different heights. I'm 5'4" works great for me. I've had friend over 6' sit in it just fine too. If you have to sit at a desk for long periods of time, it's very kind to you back and posture. I'm a full-time student taking between 13-15 units, studying nutrition and food science. I read and write/type a LOT, and many of my assignment and quizzes/tests are online. I didn't have to visit the chiropractor once this past semester! The semester before that, I had to go a few times due to an injury, but sitting in normal chairs was just killing my back. I also really like it because I can completely store it under my desk. Lastly and certain not least, any time I have people over they always ask, "what is that?! How do you sit in it?" And it's still a crack up to watch people try to figure it out if they've never seen a chair like this!

Poorly Padded & Too High
I'm 5'10 and 210 lbs. My immediate problem with this chair is that no matter how I divide my weight between seat and knee cushions, both get bruised. The foam is simply too spongy to avoid feeling the board beneath both butt and shins. But my main problem is that the chair is designed too high for desk height. Adjusted toward its lowest extremes, the angle between seat and knee pad is too acute for comfort. And that's still too high for a laptop on a desk. So it contributes to the muscle strain on my middle back instead of relieving it. I wish I'd have saved up for a more expensive model. Here's hoping you pay more attention to the poor reviews than the glowing ones on this particular item, and save yourself some time and trouble.

so I'm happy to have one now
I had tried a kneeling chair years ago and always regretted not buying it, so I'm happy to have one now. After one false start, the assembly went very smoothly, and I like the fact that you can adjust both the seat position and the distance between the knee rest and the seat. I did not put on the casters because I wanted more stability. The cushions are quite plush and comfortable and over all it seems well made. I haven't been using it too long yet, and I can tell there will be a bit of experimenting to find the positioning that will work best for my knees, as they're bearing much of your weight. But in terms of back comfort, it's just great. You automatically sit upright with a neutral spine and don't start slumping, and it relieves all the pressure on your lower back. I have it paired with a moveable keyboard stand, which I can wheel very close to the seat and move up and down to a good height.
