AM 128 Silicone Rubber RTV 8.8lb Kit

I have used a wide variety of RTV over my many years of model making mold making and casting. I worked in the Hasbro model shop as a model maker and technician and had my own modeling and casting business for over 20 years. This RTV is easy to handle, very easy to pour and I have had wonderful results. I don't have any long term use results at this time, but I have ordered my second set. I use the RTV to cast in a variety of mediums: Smooth On resin, polyester resin, and white metal. I have made open top molds (one sideed) and 2 piece molds.

This kit is great for hobbyists such as myself to make very detailed molds of almost any object. The silicone rubber mixes and pours relatively easily, it has a pleasant odor, and cures into a durable, long lasting mold.Air bubbles are a concern with any silicone rubber mold making compound. I've been able to significantly reduce bubbles by pouring the mix in a thin stream from a 3ft height. It's an imperfect alternative to setting up an expensive vacuum chamber.

I use this for making molds for soaps, candles, and cast plastics. This is not for making food with, you'll want platinum cured silicone for that.
