Usually during the winter, I get dry scalp from the cold weather in my area. This year however, was the worst it's ever been, and for some reason, my dry scalp persisted even as the weather got a lot warmer. In addition, my scalp was super itchy this year, which had never happened before. I tried so many shampoos, anything from neutrogena t-sal, head and shoulders, a garnier fructis tea tree shampoo, aveda balancing scalp shampoo, exederm, apple cider vinegar rinse, etc. and none of these products worked, or only fixed one of the problems (aka relieved the flakes but did nothing for my itchy scalp, and vice versa). My scalp was itchy, flaky, red and irritated from my scratching despite the warm and humid climate I was in. Sometimes it made it hard for me to fall asleep because it was so itchy. I decided to try this product since I saw it was targeted specifically towards dry and itchy scalp. I washed my hair with it for the first time and saw immediate results. It doesn't say to shampoo twice, but I did the first time because after my first lather, my scalp still felt a little itchy and I didn't get a very strong tingly sensation from the tea tree oil. After my second lather, the menthol and tea tree oil immediately soothed all my itches and I got that strong tingly sensation that I love about tea tree oil. I let it sit in my hair for a couple minutes before rinsing out with cold water. And after I let my hair air dry, I found that my scalp was not itchy AT ALL and the dryness/flakiness drastically improved (not completely resolved though, but I'm sure as I continue to use it it will get better). My hair also felt lighter and softer, which is great considering all the other shampoos I have been trying have dried out my hair. I also love the herbal scent of this shampoo, a drastic improvement from my apple cider vinegar rinse leftover smell. Although I only used this one time, I was too excited about the results to not write a review immediately, since I finally found a shampoo that soothes my dry scalp. I'd definitely say to give this shampoo a try if you're hesitant, and its relatively cheap compared to all the other expensive shampoos that claim to resolve scalp problems.

I ordered the shampoo for my 86-year-old mom. She complained about her head itching but she doesn't have dandruff so I didn't want to get her a dandruff shampoo. It smells wonderful and it has decreased her itching!

Great clarifying shampoo. Gentle but gets out the product. This was recommended to me by someone with much straighter oilier hair who washed it on a more regular basis and now i am a convert using it on my much curlier drier hair on a less regular washing schedule.

The shampoo seems to clean well, and I like the fact that it has almost no smell. What I don’t like is my scalp is still very itchy and I have a lot more static in my hair than normal. I’ll use it for a while longer to see if the Itchiness is relieved and if so, I’ll buy the conditioner to go with it in hopes that addresses the static electricity in my hair.UPDATE- after using daily for a week, I will not be using this shampoo any longer. No relief from itching and my hair has crazy amount of static.

I never write reviews but I felt that I needed to say my experience with this shampoo. I have had dandruff for a long while now. I kept using head and shoulders, castor oil (which made my hair so oily, I don’t recommend), coconut oil, and even Dr. Naturals shampoo to get rid of my dandruff and itchy scalp. NONE OF THESE SHAMPOOS/NATURAL OILS WORKED! One night the itchiness and dryness was so bad that at 2AM I went on Amazon and came across this shampoo and decided to give it a try. IT WORKED!!!!!! The first time I washed my hair with this shampoo the itchiness stopped right away. However, I did notice that after the first wash I had a lot more dry flakes in my hair but I figured it takes time to see improvement so I kept using. By the third wash my dryness, itchiness and flakes were GONE!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy and I will continue to use this shampoo. I wish I found it sooner but now that I know about it I will keep using it.Thank you to the people who made this shampoo!

My teen has ultra thick curly hair and a bit of eczema on his scalp. After a few washes with this shampoo, combined with diligent towel drying afterwards, his flakes and build-up are greatly improved. Only drawback is that the manufacturer recommend using it generously, so we are going through it more quickly than other products. It would probably work with less too, but as it is working with the recommended amount, we will likely just order it more frequently. It is worth it to him.
