CB 1001 Compact Balance, 1000g Capacity, 0.1g Readability

The scale is very accurate and functions as I would expect. I was slightly disappointed by how cheap the materials seem. Isn't the most expensive scale you can buy but is certainly not super inexpensive either. For the price I would expect slightly better quality in terms of materials and construction. I would also expect to get some calibration weights but maybe this isn't common, I'm not an experienced scale purchaser. My RCBS reloading scale I bought years ago seemed slightly better quality and came with calibration weights. Having said all that, the scale functions great and is more than accurate enough for my needs. I really like the feature when I place something on the scale, the LCD display backlight comes on. When not used for a minute the backlight will then shut off to save battery. I do like that there is no auto off feature as I have been screwed when weighing something and the scale shuts off with materials on the plate. Then I lose all my tared out settings. I use this mostly for mixing small amounts of epoxy so losing the tare while adding the hardener is devastating. This scale works perfect for my purpose.

La balance est précise c'est ce qu'on lui demande mais pour ce prix je suis persuadé qu'on peut trouver bien mieux. Finition plastique de base. Le plateau est correct en inox il me semble. Mauvais rapport qualité/prix.

What you get: a compact electronic balance with a stainless steel plate. The good: nice and compact. The display and levelling bubble are nice and clear, and the buttons are well laid out. The bad: they don't measure accurately to the specification of +/- 0.1 g. Here's the test I applied (and repeated three times) : The Test: ------------ 1) placed a small bottle on the scales; 2) zeroed the scales; 3) took a dropper filled with tap water; 4) added one drop at a time until the reading changed from zero grams. The Results: ----------------- 1) after four drops, the scales still read zero; 2) after five drops, the scales read 0.2 g. So, given that four drops were measured to weigh less than 0.1 g, another drop should not have given 0.2 g, but rather, 0.1 g. Two stars because of the good ergonomics, detailed above.
