Exactly what I needed and what I was looking for. This converter plugs into the back of the WII and it connects to the TV via the HDMI connector. It eliminates the need for the original Wii RCA cable. The picture is sharp. My kids can play their games on the new TV with no issues (you get both video and sound from the HDMI output). I initially purchased the S-ciing RCA Composite CVBS AV to HDMI mini converter (  S-ciing RCA Composite CVBS AV to HDMI Video Audio Converter AV2HDMI Adapter Mini Box Support 1080P for TV/PC/PS3/Blue-Ray DVD,Black  ). It worked great. However, it still required the Wii original cable and an additional HDMI cable on the other end. I wanted to minimize the number of cables in the TV cabinet. But I ended up using the latter to connect my old DVD / VHS player to the TV.

Ok, first of all this will not take your 480 wii signal and make it a 1080p signal. Lets us get that out of the way, I have seen too many reviewers of these products make the mistake that this unit sucks because the picture is not better. Of course the picture is not better, it is a 480 picture.What this product does do is allow those of us with newer TV's that only have HDMI inputs to now play our wii's by using this adapter. Plug it into the wii and use an HDMI cable to connect this to your TV. My converter works perfectly. What did surprise me was how well my 4k Tv upconverts the 480 signal. The only problem I have found is an av sync problem. I imagine that is mostly because of the upconverter of my TV taking so long. I have my soundbar set to the highest av sync setting and the sound is still off. But I can now play wii on my 4k Tv.

It works!I would say they picture quality is slightly worse than the composite cables which came with the Wii. That being said, I'm the only one who noticed it, so I didn't tell anyone :)I like the audio out capability. I purchase a 3.5 to composite cable as it was the only option left on our sound-box and it sounds really good.I would mainly recommend this for the ease of fitting and the less mess cables :)Enjoy.

Works perfectly, since our retro game room has only four slots for rca connection and two unused hdmi ports on the TV, this freed up a connection for the PlayStation two. Picture is crisp, audio is clear, definitely a good buy.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. I can't say it upscales, but the TV I have the Wii connected to is something like a 24", so it's not like you're going to see much at 1080p...

Hdmi does not send audio, only video. Has a separate connection for audio. Requires a separate cable to connect audio, not included. This is reason for 1 star.

It does just exactly what it's designed to do, converts to HDMI. It does not do any more than that, so you aren't going to see a miraculous upconversion to 1080p from your Wii.

Worked Great with my Wii game. You can see immediately on your tv screen the clarity and sharpness of the game. Also the sound is more defined.
