I've been using Stanley products for many years now, since I took up DIY projects at home. They have generally been good and long lasting products in the past. Recently however, I have seen the quality of their tool deteriorate over time and am wondering if their manufacturing standards have slackened with increasing volume and cheap manufacturing out of China.I needed a good hot glue gun for my DIY projects and hot glue is just magical when you use it for the correct indications. However, it needs electricity and a hot glue gun to work and hence this purchase was required. Being an electrical device, I put safety forst and wanted to +buy the device only from trusted manufacturers with a track record for safety. My first choice was a Dremel, but that was too expensive for me to justify spending a couple of thousand rupees on a glue gun. My second choice, primarily because of the good reputation and the affordable price, was the Stanley unit. However, if you read my opening lines, you'll notice my faith in Stanley products is slowly eroding. I still decided to give it a shot and with some trepidation in mind, I had ordered the Stanley Hot Glue Gun.I received the product 4 days after placing the order via Amazon Transport Services. The product cam well packaged in a heat shrinked thermoplastic wrap bubble. It does not come with any glue sticks so be sure to order some in advance. The gun looked well made, and looks like it will last me many years. My only concern is the fold-able plastic 'kickstand' that is used to prop it upright, as I'm afraid it may break with repeated deployment. I would have been happier with a metal stand but only time will tell if my fear is justified. It comes with a standard 2 pin plug and about 1 meter of laminated cord. The gun takes about 3-5 minutes to heat up and melt glue, depending on ambient temperature and glue sticks used. I used standard glue sticks purchased from "The Coolio" on Amazon.in and have very good experience to report.The gun heats up quickly, accepts standard glue sticks, the trigger feeds the sticks nicely into the gun and the nozzle dispenses the molten glue with ease. The nozzle is very well designed and has a coating of heat resistant rubber like material over the actual metal nozzle, making it easy to remove dried glue from the gun after cooling. Also, unlike what I had been expecting, molten glue does not drip from the nozzle when it is kept on the table awaiting use.Overall, I think this is the most affordable hot glue gun available from an Internationally renowned manufacturer on Amazon.in, with commendable performance and ergonomics for casual home DIY projects.Verdict: Recommended

Always dripping during use. Dangerous if not careful. Can burn yourself. Overall serves it's purpose. Just be careful.

Sorry Stanley, but this was a disappointment. The advance did not work so I had to push the glue bar in manually, as I needed it there and then I lived with it.
