How often do you have to reapply after initial use?

I have had the first application on since last summer. I will reapply it again before fall. I love this stuff 

what happens to the finsih if i wash that area? does it fade away?

Overtime, eventually it will fade away. I've only needed to reapply every once 5 to 6 months. That's also due to harsh winters, salt, sand, and drive thru carwashes, which are just elements I can't avoid. This stuff is top notch! Apply sparingly, a little goes a loooooooong way!

How well does this product hold up rain? Tried Black Wow, Chemical Guys Back to Black... Look great but they streak if car is parked in the rain.

I have found two critical guide lines that should be met. 1) After application (thin coats) it needs a good day to set up, if water hits it soon after application you will see streaking. 2) Applying a second coat after first coat sets up, is the key to it holding up. This is one of the best products I have found for my 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. I have tried many others that just do not hold up to the South Florida sun.I am not associated with the manufacturer, and highly recommend this product.
