After putting the batteries in the clock, it took about 5 minutes to have it set. The clock plugs in to 110V power, but the batteries retain clock settings if you unplug it to move it. Setting it is very simple and straightforward, including the alarm. The LED display has 3 brightness levels, so you can have it bright enough to see in full daylight and dim enough to let you sleep in a dark room. The alarm is a buzzer and is pretty loud. The clock does not keep track of days, so you can set the alarm a maximum of 24 hours in advance. The clock is a simple, functional product at a very low price.

I was looking for a simple desk clock that runs of AC and uses the 60 Hz mains frequency as a time base. The reason for the latter is because the electricity company keeps this really accurate, you will never have to correct the clock (as is often the case with clocks having an internal quartz reference). Quartz based clocks always drifts over time, not so for this clock. Also, those atomic clocks (as an alternative) were not an option for me, as the NIST radio signal for that (from Ft Collins, CO) is too weak where I live. Apart from the fact that those clocks cost at least twice as much. There is a battery backup in this clock that keeps an internal oscillator running when there is a power outage, two AAA batteries can be placed in the clock for that. Contrary what some reviewers have reported as a "defect", these batteries are only there to keep the internal oscillator running during an outage so you won't have to re-adjust the clock after a power outage. These batteries will NOT keep the display illuminated. That is not why these batteries are there, even the video reviewer had not grasped that fact I noticed. I recommend to use old-fashioned carbon-zinc batteries for this backup function, as alkaline-based batteries always start to leak corrosive electrolyte after a while. This will destroy your radio in the process. This leakage happens even when alkaline batteries are hardly used I have noticed, they are terrible in that aspect. Use carbon-zinc instead (often called "heavy duty" batteries) This is in fact my only gripe about this radio, it should have been designed for a lithium coin cell battery instead of the two AAA batteries. Lithium batteries never leak an have an extremely low self discharge. Another nice-to-have would have been a daylight- saving time switch, but not a big deal. Adding it all up, this is a buy I can recommend. The clock is built well and has good brightness (settable by the user)

Has that Old School high pitch alarm sound, so annoying you just have to wake up, lol. I bought it for my son. Alarm off alarm on, dimmable lcd display. Just simple and well built.

Small size and lightweight, moderate sound when the alarm is on, easy to set and operate, clear numbers, and the price is not exaggerated.

My old clock a few days ago I went to use it , clock set button snapped off of it I wasn't happy, I looked on Amazon thank goodness I found this clock , I used it to set my time to get up this morning ,it woke me right up . Simple to use, simple to shut off. Clock is very small,but mighty. As you can see the old clock,where the button is there's a gaping whole wear the button should be

Nice, functional clock. Small, dimmable, RED led clock. NO sunshine, no projection on the ceiling, no glaring numerals that light up the whole room. A good, simple clock that works. Well priced.

Works great & easy to use.

Very small and lite. The cord wants to pull it off the nightstand. The alarm sound is quiet so if you are a sound sleeper look elsewhere but if you dont want to disturb anyone else this may be for you. I like the adjustable brightness and the battery backup which is the main reason I purchased this. We get short power glitches in windy weather and that would reset my old clock radio back to 12:00. The adjustments are not ideal, they only adjust forward so if you want to set the alarm or time back you have to run through the whole 24 hr period. Maybe I am just spoiled by having a forward or reverse adjustment on my old one as well as a volume setting. I am keeping it but still looking for an ideal replacement.

I bought this thinking it would work because why wouldn’t a simple alarm clock work in 110v-220v areas? Well it doesn’t. Only works in 110v. I tried batteries only. Nope. Be warned!

Had to return it as it came with US fittings but the clock itself looked quality.
