good article but compass stopped working almost immediately and one screw fell out.

Very cheap construction, came in an envelope broken. Other parts broke within hours.

I am updating my "it's really awesome" review from previously I really liked this walking stick at first. It has a flashlight and a compass on it. The compass is very small and has not worked since I got the walking stick though so that knocks the rating down.. The flashlight component is a definite plus when I'm walking at night (like walking to my car from the building where we have Boy Scouts - the sidewalk is very dark). It needs to be redesigned to work better - currently you turn the flashlight so it's tight (like tightening a screw) to turn it on, and loosen it to turn it off. This is really flawed as it should really have an on/off button instead of a piece you have to loosen to turn it off. I've already had the flashlight fall off several times because it got too loose so have just removed the batteries and tightened it as tight as possible. So that knocks the rating down even more. The stick itself is awesome. I can feel it give some, like shocks in a car when it needs to. As far as I'm concerned, the compass can just be removed. It's too small for really anyone to see. If they redesign the flashlight portion, I would rate it a little higher. The last part of the review update is the rubber cane tip. I received the cane 2 months ago (actually ordered 2 of them so I could trade them back and forth). Both tips have worn through in the center so the metal part of the end of the cane is poking through. This makes it very difficult to walk on surfaces that are wood or tile because the metal just slides across the floor. The whole purpose of a cane is to add stability when walking - sliding across the floor kind of kills that stability. I have tried to get replacement tips for it. It is not a standard size tip, so I am NOT able to get cane tips for this. Unless I'm walking outside on sidewalks, or other concrete, or on carpeted areas, the cane is pretty useless anymore.

Lost one of my first two. On my third stick. Suggest company encourage people to put name, address and phone number on each one. I like them.

I don’t use it as of yet. I have it in. Case. But it’s nice anyway.
