Rubbermaid Pitcher Classic 1 Gallon Clear Base, Red Lid

Great 1 gallon pitcher! CAUTION: Do not do, what I do to mine! You could get badly burned with hot water if you’re not careful. I’m only telling you my story so you can see how tough these pitchers are. My first Rubbermaid pitcher just gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago. I used it to make ice tea with boiling water, steep the bags, then throw it into a refrigerator until cold. I never felt like it gave off any gasses or odd smells. It never warped. That first one lasted several years doing this torture test day in and day out! A gallon of ice tea lasts me half a week or so. It is an actual Rubbermaid brand pitcher and proved its mettle. It finally sprung a small leak after years of abuse. I had to toss it out and get a replacement. I heat up water in a kettle to boiling (or near boiling), then pour it directly into the plastic pitcher (over a sink, thinking this will be the time the bottom melts out)! It did not melt the bottom out of it after all that time. When it died I was pretty sad. It was a fun and interesting experiment. They changed the design from my earlier one. But seems to be just as tough. I make ice tea like always and the new one handles it the same. I’ll buy another after I bust this one. They clean up easy and are rugged. I can’t give it any greater praise than that.

This is the classic pitcher that we all used as kids. It isn't fancy, but it gets the job done just like it is supposed to. I lost the lid to my very very very old rubbermaid pitcher, and got tired of the ice plopping out in my drinks, so I got this as a replacement. I actually they they have updated the handle to make it more comfortable. Great product

I haven’t been able yo find a suitable tea pitcher in a brick and mortar store and I’ve looked for a few months. This Rubbermaid is perfect. No leaks, fits perfectly in our fridge, easy to clean and the tea that I make is perfect!

Sturdy pitcher.

Note: the pitcher I received is not the one in the image. It is the same as other gallon-sized Rubbermaid pitchers on Amazon. The top handle is more like a long bar and, consequently, sticks up higher. I specifically picked the one pictured because it was supposed to be 10.5" high and I wouldn't have to adjust my fridge shelves. The pitcher I received is more like 11.25", so I had to squeeze up one of my shelves. That being said.... I drink alot of tea and got tired of making a pitcher every day. The gallon size works great for me. I've been looking at pitchers in the local store and the tops don't turn easily. This one turns with no problem but still clicks into place. It's sturdy and I can wash it in the dishwasher (just barely fits). If it weren't for the mislabeling/height issue, I'd give it a 5.

Nice product holds a full gallon. Has measuring marks on it.

I bought a couple of them! They are a nice big size and the lids fit perfect. They look cool and I use some for my coffee machine, to water my plants and to refill the cat bowls.

Absolutely worth the price! I use it constantly. So much so, I purchased a second one.
