Midwest Hearth 3419 Encore Stove Gasket Kit for Vermont Castings Wood Stoves (Made in USA)

I purchased this gasket kit to replace the door gaskets on my Vermont Castings Encore wood stove. The kit comes with various sizes of fiberglass gasket rope for a complete gasket replacement including the stove top door gasket. I only replaced the door gaskets as the factory gaskets had a gap starting from the end fraying apart and I wanted to fix that prior to the 2022-23 burning season. I plan to replace the others this summer. I found this kit very easy to use and an effective replacement to the stove’s original factory door gaskets. I assume the gaskets I’ve yet to use will be similarly effective. Using the kit is straight forward and pretty much anyone should be able to use it regardless of DIY skill level. If you find yourself needing a little extra instruction and/or encouragement to do this yourself there are plenty of videos available online. I’d definitely purchase this kit again in the future.

**(Manufacturers of gasket rope should mark each gasket physically with diameter sizes)** will make it much easier to locate the correct size gasket when installing to stove size instructions.Before you install read the instructions!! look at your stove and verify the gaskets and thier locations. Mark it down if needed. Lay out you new rope gaskets and verify thier replacement spots on your stove. When you remove your old stove gasket use a wire brush and clean out the stove gasket tracks. When the tracks are clean lay a bead of the new gasket glue in the stove gasket tracks enough so that the bottom half of the new gasket will be coated. (you dont want gasket glue all around your gasket.) After I laid in my gasket I made sure the gasket was seated in firmly then I cut the extra leftover 1/2 inch past my starting point and finalized seating the gaskets tail end.

The gaskets are great, but I could barely get the gasket cement to come out, I had put it on a flat service and press down on it for it to come out. Squeezing didn't work.

I used this kit to rebuild my Vermont Castings Defiant Encore 0028. It has all of the needed gaskets except for the specialized spacer gaskets for the door glass, and I was able to reuse them.

I bought this to replace the gaskets on a Vermont Castings Encore wood stove as listed. The gasket material for the glass was listed to be 6' but was only about 4.5' of gasket in the package. Even stretching this does not fit. If 6' had been supplied it would have worked fine. Better QC is needed on the package to be sure the right lengths are included.

Not clear enough on where everything goes

Gasket kit is exact replacement of original gaskets. Takes time to clean out the old gaskets but once cleaned out gaskets are easy to install if you follow directions.

Simple and easy to use. Everything g you need was in the bag to do the whole stove. Got it in 2 days.
