Always a treat
When Fliss and her sisters, Nellie and Lizzie arrive in France to see the house they have inherited from their beloved grandfather, the last thing they expect to find is a beautiful chateau. What’s more, they don’t expect to find it has a sitting tenant! Thanks to French law, they soon discover that they cannot sell the property and must set out to make the chateau pay for itself or lose it forever to the previous owners. But Chateau Des Arbres carries more than one secret and more than one hitch along the way. Fliss soon discovers the locals are less than happy to see her and they are not going to make her quest easy.Full of autumnal warmth, apples, food and lashings of apple brandy, this book is an absolute delight to read. This is the perfect jaunt through France and a wonderful easy read to see you through the evenings as the weather begins to turn. My only downfall is, I can’t make a Jo Thomas book last longer than 2 days. And so I go back to waiting for the next one to appear.
