Amusing, good read
My 4 & 6yo loved this book just as they have loved all in the Mercy series. It’s a fast, fun read with quirky characters and an amusing, encouraging story that kids can relate to. We purchased our first Mercy book two years ago and have been picking up every single one that comes out, ever since. My kids love them and often ask me to read one of them during the day. I plan on holding on to these for future grandkids as well.

One of the best in the Mercy Watson series!
Another very cute book in the Mercy Watson world. I was worried that some of the vocabulary was too advanced for my 6 year old, but the story was engaging and the illustrations held his attention. After we finished reading the book, he insisted on reading a few books we had on the solar system and string up some planet-shaped lights that were shoved in a drawer. The book has a great message and was impactful and inspirational to my son wanting to learn more. About a week after reading it, he made an observation while we were riding bikes in the neighborhood - I wish I remembered what he said exactly - that made him pause and say, “oh I made a metaphor like Stella did in that book we read.” Hahaha!

Always a great read aloud!
Even though my boys are in middle school and high school, they still let me read aloud to them. We started Mercy Watson books when they were much younger and we have to keep up with all the happening on Deckawoo drive!

we love this series
My kids ages 13-4 all love this series and will burst out laughing when they look at the pictures and read the books outloud. I would say my 7yr old likes them best and its a good challenging read for her. :)
