I would second TL's comment. Change filter every time you change the oil and at your car's schedule/owner's manual of oil change frequency due to driving type. This could range from 3k miles (very severe conditions) to 5k (average today) to 7500k depending on what type of car and type of driving. I would also recommend full synthetic oil but the oil weight and type would be listed in the manual as well.

To confirm, this filter (non-xp) is sufficient for 10,000 miles correct? what is the exact "mileage," rating on this filter? also, wix or the fram 20k

Wix is better than Fram. You should change the oil (and filter) based on the engine's recommended interval as modified by the driving conditions. The oil wears out before the filter does. If you want to do science, there are places that will test your used oil and suggest an interval to get the most from it.
