Tremco116 Vulkem Polyurethane High-Performance Sealant, Almond

I am a recent convert to polyurethane for external caulking, in spite of the extra cost. I was looking for an almond color in hopes of matching my southwestern style stucco and although not perfect, I am very happy with the color match. This caulk has a slightly grainy texture which is actually perfect for blending with stucco. Polyurethane seems to require more time to fully cure, so pick a calm stretch so that the wind does not blow crap into your work. Like silicone, it cures by reacting with the moisture in the air, so in dry air you can spritz it with water to help it along.

I have used Vulkem for over 20 years. Incredible stuff. Comes in more colors now than it did then. This is actually a structural caulk, used by commercial glaziers to install window frames. The caulk (unpainted) from 20 years ago is still sound. Make sure what you put in with it is meant to be permanent. It is a devil to have to cut out after a couple of weeks of curing. The only downside for DIY is that it is really messy, and takes some getting used to in order to get a good bead. Have mineral spirits handy for cleanup and smoothing. If you don't, you are going to HATE Vulkem.

LOVE this caulk. Outperforms all the rest by a long shot. Will go for years without cracking and having to be replaced.
