I was quite excited to receive this item, way better than anticipated. 250g is a decent amount of veneer and the sheets are quite large. Most of the timbers were quite plain and unexciting for someone used to Australian specialty timbers, but by the same token the sheets are regular-grained and lacking the knots, splits and gum veins common in veneers I've used. I don't recognise many of the timbers, one looks like radiata pine while I assume the rest is beech or larch or similar. I mainly use veneers in box-making and many pieces would be eminently suitable except there's not enough of any one timber for anything but a very small box. One sheet had me shouting with joy, because it's almost jet black and supremely attractive. Alas it was one of the skinnier sheets, so I will disappear down another rabbit hole trying to identify the timber to find more.

Assez fragile donc il faut être très méticuleux et patient. Se munir de bons cutters. La finesse des plaques impose de les conserver bien à plat et serrés pour éviter que ça vrille à cause de l humidité dans l air.

I liked both the amount and the variety of woods, as well as the actual size of the veneers which were large. You have to handle them with care, however, as -- unlike Eighteenth Century veneers which were an eighth of an inch thick -- these are little thicker than a sheet of 100 gsm paper.
